Looks solid, and from my experience vs. X-Bow's you shouldn't have much to worry about TH 8's ;). But i bet you would have a lot of trouble with TH 9's, especially on the soft bottom that scares me.. :(

The main key concept in his base design is the anti-wb mechanism.

Just kinda tire of creating hybrid bases for pokeball...
Ping's base can be swapped easily between hybrid/farming is because the concept behind his base is
1) Anti-WB Mechanism, in which he has 2 kinds, and can be easily adapted at the 4 sides of any base you create
a) WB strips + compartment at side
b) Tesla in mid with 2 funnel.
Whereas the key concept behind my pokeball is
1) "+" position Separation between my 4 gold/de storage
2) Overlapping Splash coverage, with atleast 3 splash buildings per gold/de storage.
And I can't simply apply such concepts into hybrid base..

I'm loving the zuuga base designer, aren't you? Working with the walls is so seamless. Could use some tweaking on building selection but otherwise A+.
Also this pokeball is a smart design.
For a hybrid base you don't always have to have the TH in the center. That's what the CC is for. Don't you agree?

Sadly, I prefer protecting my storages instead rather than the TH.

I'm a farmer at TH 7, been farming DE at 1700-1800 trophies and this base has been holding up really well. Got revenged by a TH 10 with max barbs, gobs and archer queen and he only got 1000 gold lol. I replaced 1 tesla with a giant bomb because its upgrading and that bomb took out about 40 barbs :D. Just wanted to say thanks for an awesome design, sceenshot time :).Attachment 9941

I recently upgrade to TH7, attempted to design my own base first, but couldn't get anything satisfactory. I then copied Pokeball and it has been serving me well,, gave me some great replays.

As you can see, I did some modifications to the original base design, basically just swapped some core defenses' and storages' places. Now every gold storage is protected by two wizard towers and two mortars. Air defense is now a bit more exposed, but at these trophy ranges air attacks are really rare. Also I'd like to mention that I don't care about DE atm, that's why exposed DE. Do you like my modifications? :o
Addition to my last post, I'm thinking of swapping the lowest mortar with the nearby archer tower to make the mortar triangle more equal.
Like them all to be honest might consider using TH 9 one and cant wait to see what you can do with TH 10!

- It seems the mortars would be vulnerable to multiple lightning strikes on the clan castle. Is this not a concern? Perhaps because 60k in lightning is not something a farmer would use?
- Most farmers don't use air units as they're expensive, so why do we protect the AD so much?
- I've been TH7 for a couple weeks and been spending all my gold on defensive structures and waiting to upgrade my walls. Is this proper order to spend my gold?
- I've been hesitant to spend 5 builders on defensive structures as it would leave my base so vulnerable. Should this be a concern?

Jun, do you have a screenshot/link of the base you were using at TH8 during the trophy push? It was the one inspired by pings hybrid with the TH in the middle with cc and de. I noticed most of the TH8 in exodias were using it during the trophy push as well.

I have not tried them in a farming base, but I would expect them to fare better in a farming base as they are fighting against lower tier troops :)

Wanted to give you a free bump for the amazing pokeball base. I've been using the TH 8 complete no funneling set up while maxing my defenses and seriously its been extremely successful. Never have i been taken for all my gold storages let alone maybe 1 max. Otherwise working as been tested and proven in the past opponents going for TH and/or elixir and leaving.
anyway, I wanted to see how the pokeball TH 9 testing has been going? Ill be up there in a few weeks max and hope to use your layout for TH 9 but just wondering if you are sticking with it. Any updated screenshots of your TH 9 farming base? :)

Storage wise, it really depends on whether you are a hardcore farmer or not.
I was farming 5m+ gold per day, so 3rd storage was a must for me.
A storage takes around 5 days to get from Lv1 to Lv11.
But if its not needed for you, then sure, keep it at 2 storage.
Put the 2 gold storage opposite on another, follow by DE and 1 elixir storage in the last pocket.
Then the last elixir storage, just put it beside the DE compartment or whatever suits your needs.

Big fan, although I've never used your pokeball base, I am currently using Pingfaos tesla one, but I think at some point I will switch over. Wanted to get your opinion on you DE protection. I pretty consistently watch your yt channel and do you feel your DE storages were raided quite a bit? I think I'm getting to the point where I'm really focusing on getting my walls up (last few going from lvl 6 to 7 then working on those skulls) and upgrading my BK (currently lvl 4 so the DE I need to start storing up is getting more and more lucrative to attackers). Just wanted some good advice!

im a th8 and maxed out(except for my teslas/AD but they are upgrading) and i fear lightning on mortars too lol, there is no way to prevent people from lightninging your stuff(damn those losers lightninging my DE when their attack fails), the best advice is to give your mortars a strong position but don't rely totally on them
Those pokeball bases look very effective and strong, but is there any way of creating a pokeball base with TH inside the walls and also keeping the resources protected? I kinda don't like losing battles, but I want my base to be like a pokeball. :P Or do I just have to give up my TH to the attackers.
Any mathematicians/war strategists here to solve this burning problem?

Added TH8 Hybrid Pokeball to first post at first page.
My TH7 variation of your Pokeball also did very well. I never lost more than 2 storages, which also leads to no 90%, 16-hour shield activated even.
This was with everything maxed out, so the outside cannon would typically be an upgrading defense.
I also did not value elixir very high as I was always swimming in it, hence the one storage outside. These can be swapped easily though.

Your one cell boxes that you got in 3 corners (left, right and bottom) serve no role but esthetics, not to mention the layout has the same core problem that has been pointed out nicely in a video a few posts above.

No offence, but i think that hybrid is terrible;) go in the bottom and all but 2 storages are within range, and you might even get into DE. The mortar position in that is atrocious. Also, it needs more segmentation between archer towers and cannons :)Quote:

Thanks Junliang :) I permanently moved to a farming pokeball base 1J and it works great! Even the lvl 6 troops could not get more than 60k gold from me. But I still wanted to create a hybrid ball base of some sort
I've been struggling and struggling with the base for many hours now, but finally I managed to create a hybrid round-shaped base. It very hard to create a round hybrid base because there are not enough waaaallls! I don't like funneling, but those walls left me no other choice. Also now that the TH is in the middle, the CC had to be moved away from the center. The Wiz towers, mortars and gold storages made my head almost explode 'cause I just couldn't find a good pattern for them. I switched their positions like a million times. I know the mortars are still little bit in a danger zone...

What i realised about tt is that when pple attack from the sides, once my single wiz gets taken down, the other wiz twrs will be at the mid section, so they would clear around 2 of my gold storage already.
