So in clan wars I was able to get all my valks to the center right next to my opponets Town Hall. Instead of going after the TH, they bailed, leaving the entire area and decided to attack all the buildings on the parimiter getting gunned down in the process. Why is this happening? This happened twice now. Am I missing something? Please help.

I just started using them again but it seems like if there are 2 buildings close together they will stop what they are doing too take down the 2 buildings. But dont quote me on that.
You are terrible at using Valkyries.
I use 5 maxed Valkyries in my GoVaWiWi.
Every single time I get my 5 sexy beasts in the core and every single time they tear it up completely.
Learn to use them, they are absolute power and have great HP.

Were there any heroes/CC troops/skeletons around when this happened? Even if they were quite far away, they could still potentially distract valks.
If not then maybe you just had bad luck, or need to keep valks alive longer (ie. heal spells) so they can do their work.
I've seen something similar. I haven't seen them stop attacking a building, but what I have seen, is they will be attacking between two buildings, and one of the two buildings gets destroyed. At this point, their AI automatically searches for a new target, even though one of the two buildings they were attacking is still standing. If they see two touching buildings, they might abandon the current building (which they were already attacking before) to go after the two buildings that are touching. But I think distance plays into this as well, because I've never seen them go as far as the OP described. Maybe 2-3 tiles, but not from the core to the perimeter.Quote:

Valkyries are awesome, no one had to hold my hand to find a good army composition and tactic to discover a successful use for them.
1) Skele traps/heros/cc
The worse case I ever had of this was with a Giants and Valkyrie attack on a Th10. Heros down, CC inactive - prime target. Started my surge down the middle and my king I believed triggered a skeleton trap on the outside of the base. My Valkyrie literally backtracked (under a rage) about 8 paces, stood in place for a few seconds because the skeletons had died, move around some due to different skeletons, then scattered.
I had like 38% because of this bizarre AI
2) Pathing
As a few have stated Valkyrie prioritize groups of buildings. This can make pathing difficult to figure out if you have an open area. Where this causes the most issues is a ring base. If you have a square shaped compartment with a smaller square inside that one, and the buildings on the outside ring are touching each other - Valkyrie will 90% of the time follow the ring. Once I got like 75% and almost literally carved a circle around the TH.
