I'm confused on the advantages of clan perks. Everyone in my clan has max troops, so how do I get two upgrades on troops?
People will start comparing clan level after the update and it won't take long for everyone to get use to the idea. For most it's about pride as well believe me being in a high level clan with fancy badge will appeal to many. Also, established or not, bringing in new quality blood is the key to any clan.
The clan level won't matter if they are a loyal clan to each other, or if it matters they can do what I suggested earlier- war once a week/fortnight until they get whichever perks they want
once a week/fortnight means they don't waste much of their farming time on wars
So what? That still changes nothing for farming clans. Higher level clans will only attract players who want to war. For players who have no interest in war, farming clans will still exist. If a farmer wants to join a high level clan but not contribute anything to the war effort that player will be booted.
The selfishness in being upset over added features for players who love war is astounding. It doesn't change how you play.
These so-called perks are war related ONLY.
Why the hell do you care about them if you are in a farming clan?
I don't think this update will be the end of farming clan at all, however it does seem to encourage people to stay, and therefore it discourages hopping
or you could just have ten guys go to war while the rest of the clan watches and farms with the new opt in opt out function you can war once a week and just take shifts for the week meaning if you have 40 people you would only war once a month..maybe two if there are 5 weeks.

So... the only way to win clan xp will be with clan wars? I don't like that. And Sp didn't say nothing about use heros in clan wars while they're upgrading... how we can win wars in a farming clan without heros? You reward the clans who does wars but we can't do wars everytime if we want to upgrade our heros
The upgraded donations, does that apply to all donations or just donations to war clan castle? That's pretty epic that a lower TH with only lvl2 dragons will end up donating a lvl4 dragon. Same for really any expensive-ish troop (PEKKA, golem, lava hound). I'm assuming all donations though, and that sounds pretty cool.
I realize that SC can't please everyone but there are way too many complaining ppl on this forum. This game is fun and they update it pretty frequently with good stuff too.
This particular update will promote team play within the clan and emphasize clan wars...cw i a feature that we all loudly desired and got. I think this update will be awesome for the game. It will definitely be huge for my clan.

To clarify, the farming clans are those who don't war at all or start continues war but only do th sniping. Those suggest war weekly or two weekly are suggesting switching to hybrid clans
And a competitive war clan will waste a roster spot on someone who sits out every war? A farmer who has no interest in war won't sit out and make expensive troops for war donations.
They'd be a sponge looking to reap benefits for themselves and would be booted for a player who would contribute to clan growth.
Not every war clan has that full 50 spots some war clans are small war clans that don't like big wars. If someone has a guy that they want in that small war clan that wants to just farm donate and chat with friends then there is no problem with opting out he's not reaping any benefits except gaining donations and any GOOD clan would just kick him if he doesn't donate to their standards. and all farmers are not like that there are players that will just donate and farm you can't assume that ALL farmers will do what you said.

no there won't be an end to PURE farming clans some might not care about the perks period since they only have a real use when going to war. with that being the case since you don't want to go to war the perks won't have any real benefit except you can donate more and your troop levels would be increased when you donate.
Still holding on to the hope of being able to use heroes that are upgrading - at least during clan wars. At 7 days each level means I may have to use that opt out feature:) I know I know- attack down , but just saying.
You're absolutely correct. However I'm responding to the fact that farming clans will lose out on recruitment to war clans. War clans will only want to recruit players interested in war. If a players sole interest is farming, clans still exist for that. This type of player wont have interest in a high level warring clan. Nothing changes for farming clans. Everything stays the same.
A player SOLEY interested in farming is not going to waste his time building expensive troops for every war effort. Cost isn't the issue. It's cook time that slows down their farming.

Of course, it's my choice... but why heros (and al buildings) are defending in war while they are upgrading? if they are defending they must be attacking. Why people who farm a lot can't go to the war with the same weapons? In this moment I have my two heros upgrading and my Dark Elixir Storage almost full... should I stop farm DE? I want to play clan wars but I can't do without heros because they are a very important weapon that we need to upgrade
Just spoke with my clans our the new perks and we are all super excited about it. Im very happy with this update. A new clan system will bring another new fun element to the game.
Why not war till you get all the perks then go back to farming?
I can see that for higher level warring clans but that point is still flawed by the clans that only want a smaller war but a big clan. my clan personally would love this because we could recruit farmers and still have our 20 on 20 wars AND have a bigger and active clan without the need of having people who don't want to be in war accidently pulled in war. Basically, clans can be sectioned off now so the real question now is....will this be the end of having a feeder clan for low members you're trying to develop? Because with the update you can just change it to a family system and simply opt them out until you feel they're adequate enough for war. another thing you could say is this could end hoppers because now you can simply opt them out until they've been in long enough and they won't leave during war leaving them to option to either establish loyalty to that clan or simply leave.

I understand your gripe is that you can't use heroes while upgrading, as is many people's gripe. I would rather be able to use them on attacks as well.
But everyone is affected by the same thing, the difference is you are choosing to be a farming clan. So why should you have the perks of a clan who chooses not to be a farming clan?
You get the advantage of getting more loot by being a farming clan to begin with.

Lvl 13 Cannon Looks great. Also The Clan War Opt In and out could be very useful espically to farmers and players that dont do clan wars all that much
I think these clan levels will add an interesting new bit to the game but I was kindof hoping the XP wouldn't just be earned from clan warring. My clan wars twice a week but I thought that maybe there would be some gold grab type acheivements as well that also encourages the farming aspects of the game.

And if anything this update will benefit farmers. With a lowered request time farmers that use barch will be able to actually have a full CC every time they go out to raid even if they use it every time. It will also help people with donations because they won't be scared to donate low level troops because they will get buffed therefore donations will also go up.

But will clans want smaller war efforts now? You'll level your clan up faster with larger war rosters. Depending how XP is awarded it could be possible for a 40 size clan that loses all the time to level up faster than a 10 size that wins all the time. We have to wait and see on that.

Exactly, never understood the logic of some who thinks cw gives you loot. CW has always been about the win. With Elixir/DE costs of cc donations, war day donations, building your own army...your net profit (assuming you win) is not worth it for 2 attacks over 24 hrs. Unless you are war farming (but that's more off topic than my off topic response) :o
Can't a clan have 10 TH6 accounts (very easy to make them) and use only those to go to war. The opponents will likely be very weak, and CC can receive up to a dragon, which would make it very easy to win the war against a much weaker clan.
I think farming clans will just figure out a way to farm clan level as well.

I've yet to read even one reason why or how this affects farming clans in any way.
"Well we won't be able to level up and have access to perks unless we war." So? You're a farming clan; you don't need the perks.
I've never understood farming clans to begin with though. In my clan that wars 1-2 times per week, no one ever has problems with farming. It's rare to see a donation request last for more than a minute or 2 without being filled, unless it's in the middle of the night in America where most of our members reside, and the request is for specialty troops. Why not farm AND war, unless you just really hate wars?

Only the top clans aren't farming clans, almost all players are upgrading their village. Why all defenses are working in war while we are upgrading them? It's not make sense! If all defenses are working all "attackers" would be working. Ok, It's the shame for all player... of course, but if Supercell want to reward active clans wars they shouldn't penalize the farmers who are upgrading all their village to be a top player in the future, and more because the 80% or more are player who are farming in the game
I wonder if loosing a war would still award a little clan XP? If it does then war farming could become more prevalent.
Bottom line is that most clans will choose to be warring back to back. People may sit out when they have heros down, they are busy at work, they are on vacation, or they just need a break. This will be good because it will mean less kicking before searches and fewer people booted after a war for not attacking. This rinse and repeat process is hard on leadership as it is impossible to know whether someone's internet really quit working suddenly or they really did have a family emergency come up. We are constantly recruiting after kicking 3-4 people after every single war. That gets old.
Good update. It will also reward those who are running clans now as we get a head start on all players starting the game after us. I don't mind that at all.

I am also hoping th8 can't donate each other max pekka not that I care at th10 but I think that kind of kills the game a bit. Having those troops is a perk of being a th10

My war army takes over three hours. On War day that is 6 hours that I cannot raid. My war army takes hundreds of thousands of elixer depending on what I use for that raid. Prep day is ruined too because I train CC troops and cant raid with those troops to farm. If I am farming heroes then I cant really war because I wont want to have them asleep.
The reason that some people do not notice is because they aren't quite as active. They start a war army training and then come back when its ready, rinse and repeat. When I load the game I want to raid, not wait to do my war attack.
Are updates usually 3amish tuesday or 3amish wednesday PST? I don't wanna miss golden hour and need to know so i can have my boosts ready and not sleep or take a nap also.
For those of you arguing about farming and wars, this game was called clash of clans before wars were introduced. Everyone plays the game differently and you should respect that.

As a TH10 I'm not sure I fully understand the benefits of more CC storage. My maxed CC currently can hold 2 million gold or elixir and 10,000 dark lix.
In our current war if I was to three starred both top two enemy bases I would only reap around 1.1 million gold/elixir and 5,700 dark.
Is this more geared at those in the lower TH range?

the best bit of the update is the opt/in/out thing ( probabaly, depending on how it actually works in practice) but the rest is really just meh....

Farming is still what makes this game great. I think you might see clans get to lvl 10 then do straight farming again but idt you will ever see farming clans just die

No one in my clans use CC for storage and immediately dump the loot into collectors after wars as - assuming you've set up your base properly - its the safest place to store loot.
I suppose, in theory, there could be upgrades coming that will require more loot than what storage can handle alone?

I store it in cc until I need it for wall upgrade before I sleep or for a big upgrade when I need to close game and have a free builder. Don't think anything coming that would need more than 8 millions. In many updates when they add new levels to a defense or a unit they decrease the price of the previous and set then new to max or near max storage of gold/elixir storages
I take it I am right to assume clans level up based on war wins. When clans lose wars they get angry and many clans will have arguments over this. Clan levels give even more incentive to win and i have a feeling people will want to reach the top level asap.
No doubt this is going to cause more and more drama in clans already and people will hate losing
after all... why stick in a clan that may lose a few when you can join a clan that has a better chance at reaching max level faster... right..?

So lvl ten clans, get +2 lvls on troops donated (to def cc only im guessing) so if thats the case,th7 s and under will have maxed troops in def ccs,making def very OP to say the least for th lvls3-7, if this is what it looks like,making attks a lot more harder for clans that dont have maxed troop support from maxed players in clan already,there will be a rush for everyone to reach lvl clan, but will many just shy away from wars? And im guessing that +2 troop lvl means nothing to maxed ten bases and troops since theres a lvl cap..
