There are however, 10-20 people that will happily war every 2 days.

I am very glad this has been put in! Our clan needed this, too many people working out of town or on vacations and miss wars. We are all family and friends, so kicking isn't an option.
Sweet, opt in and opt out. Seems useful for lots of clans out there.
