How to know how long you've played this game!

Hi, I've been stumbled upon a question on how long did I or my friends have already played? We cannot compare our base to others simply because they have played long enough (or paid hard enough) to reach their status. Well, we can somehow see how long did a player already played this game by simply looking at the achievement, "Nice and Tidy". Why? It's because obstacles spawn every 8 hours and also limited to 40. This means, every obstacle we remove is equal to an 8-hour period, and if they accumulated 40 of them and not removing it, the timer stops (because most probably, the player didn't played a long time).

Note that this is only a rough estimate. And doesn't apply to everyone (as some players do not remove obstacles purposely).

It's:

((Number of obstacles removed - 40)x 8) / 24

Example: I'm a th7 player. I have 286 obstacles cleared (as shown in achievements). So,
((286-40)x8)/24 =
((246)x8)/24=
1968/24=
82
This means I have already played about 82 days.

The -40 is because there is already 40 obstacles when you start the game, so no count for it.

The x8 is because every obstacle spawn every 8 hours.

the /24 is, so that we can convert the numbers to days. (24h=1 day).

And what if I dont collect my trees for two months?.. Theory gone.
Its better to look at the bigger coffers achievement. Because that gives the exact date you completed the tutorial.

If you have an iPhone open Game Centre and check when you updated Gold Storage to Lvl 3 achivement i think it is, you have to do this during the first time you play the game. (Above comment beat me to it!)

A easier way would be to go onto GC, look at achievements and see what date 'Bigger Coffers' was achieved, as this is one of the first achievements you get (correct me if I am wrong) :rolleyes:

Hm.. mines came out to be around 398 days
Probably not accurate but I have no means of checking since I play on android

How do you know that these "others" you want to check have always collected their obstacles?

Bigger Coffers achievement date and Biggrer and Better. You will find a few achievements around same day. Nice and tidy isnt correct

I started in the first two weeks of the games existence, yet my nice and tidy is 500 less than some.

Lots of people try and decorate their outer edges with trees, espcially at higher levels. Players get bored and try and think of new things to do.
Look, im sorry, but we have already given you a way to get the exact date, because this method is inaccurate.
Furthermore, the search feature brought me HEAPS of results. Both methods have been discussed at length in these threads. In future, please add your comments to an already existing thread, thus allowing less repetition and more information in one spot.

No, not lots of people. Only the ones who are on their th9 or th10 rank. I'm having this Nice and tidy for comparison to other players. If you or them are playing "harder". Yes, this isn't precise, but can be in others. The formula never said, " When did you start playing the game", but instead, most likely, "how long you've been active in this game". Means inactive times are not counted.

Your formula...btw (count-40)/3 is simpler and equivalent...says I've been playing about 585 days.

But as my earlier pic indicates, I actually started August 12th 2012 or 922 days ago.

Tell me what does logic and the art of understanding "rough estimate" tell you about your estimate being over a year off? I know what it tells me...that is your method doesn't really work.

Nooooooo I would use the bigger coffers method but I only connected the game to G+ when it advised me to when I got th8.

At least I know when I got th8.

But anyway I know I started playing when clan wars came out.

I got 191 days using your math

But I've been playing for 240 days.

I actually completed Release the Beasts a day before that. I have no idea why Bigger Coffers took me so long. :rolleyes:

I am playing since 2/7/3013 this mean 600 days until now...
i was active everyday and I am always remove the obs in the first time I have free builder but I have only 1472 obs in the achivment this mean I play only 477 days
this mean 4 month disappear!!!! Amazing!!!! Lol

Thanks sooo much, I had long forgotten when I actually began playing this game and I constantly struggled trying to remember, I thought I was playing during the holidays but That seemed wrong too. Turns out I reached the achievement on March 8 2014 which means I haven't even been playing a year yet. Now I can keep track of at least the one year milestone.

I downloaded this on my honeymoon so ill never forget my start date. Nor will the wife lol.

Going strong since 20/09/2012 👍

Really? I didn't play for a year? I need to check with SC to see whose account I was playing, because that's news to me. :rolleyes:

I also use -some- obstacles as decoration. Not 40 though. I still clear them when I see them.

Fact is the method doesn't really work. The longer someone has been playing the worse the estimate becomes.

Does anybody clear obstacles as they appear? I sometimes have a clean up of 20-30 at a time when a builder becomes free. Clearing obstacles has no correlation to being active in my opinion.

So here is why your formula will never work. Obstacles spawn eight hours from the time they appear, however, when they spawn, they don't necessarily appear. They can only appear when you log off of your account and or go attack. so every minute every player has every waited at their village, or in a chat, or just trying not to get attacked, if their was an obstacle waiting, then that time is not accounted for. Over many months that number grows and grows and grows, even more so if u are the type to leave ur device on so u don't get attacked. Thats why your formula doesn't work. Nice try though.

The problem is that at start u dont have rescources to even remove like tree and most of new players wont remove any obstacles at start

The main reason why dahimis doesnt work is the mere fact that thenlady didnt count achievements before the profile update once the 3 stars were achieved so long term players this wont work

not true at all, the achievment dates have ALWAYS been on gamecenter, no one ever mentioned profiles

I just get the number of obstacles cut down and divide by 1,000. The quotient is in years. Rough estimate.
Btw this only counts times that the player is active, not inactive

I got 13 months... I know I've been playing for 2 years though. I have been inactive sometimes though.

This method is very inaccurate.

The Bigger Coffers achievement in Game Center is the best method.

I've been playing for 6.5 months but according to my obstacles and using that formula, it would be around 4.5 months. And my game center didn't start recording my clash achievements until months after I started playing. So I just had to remember

My big coffer keeps saying "April "14" when I know for a fact that I started to play in Feb "14. The nice and tidy is very incorrect because obstacles will spawn in a certain place but if you have a building blocking, the obstacle can not spawn.

It's not accurate, people save up trees to decorate. It is only an approximation, about 100/month.

I started December 11, 2014 .... I am now a 90ish% maxed TH7 at LVL 58.

As soon as I finish the 10 wall pieces, 1 more Tesla upgrade and the King to Lvl 5 I will go to TH8.
