What to do next?

I'm a fairly new th9 with mostly level 7 walls and about 20 skulls. Working on finishing new defenses (rather lazily) to th 8 like their brothers. In the lab, ive done barbs, healers, and jump spell, and giants are halfway done. What should I do on defense and should I upgrade archers or balloons to 6 in my lab? I use archers more, but it isnt as good of an upgrade as the balloons. Plus I dont have hounds yet. So what should I do as a casual (1-2 hours a day) clasher? Currently in crystal 3

I'm a th8 who is seeing the light of th9 approaching, and I plan on upgrading archers first. I use them every attack, and they're the integral part of farming (at least anywhere in gold division). Balloons are awesome at lvl 6, but the addition of the 4th air defense seems to makes 3 star attacks hard to come by in clan wars. I'd say archers first.
