TH-9 Venting

This may sound like I'm complaining, well, I am. It is so difficult to save up for the th-9 upgrades because I keep getting steam-rolled by th-10 players and more advanced th-9 players. It is frustrating me to the point I'm about to walk away because I refuse to spend $ on the game to gem my base or troop upgrades. So far, as a TH-9, I have all the new defenses up to max th8 levels, my DE drills to level 3 and 4, level 6 loons, giants, barbs, two level 7 mortars, and upgraded army camps and my AQ to level 5. I think I'm doing pretty well so far, but it's aggravatingly maddening that I get within a couple hundred thousand gold to start my third mortar upgrade or the DB level 5 upgrade only to be rolled by a much higher player to the tune of 300K resources of each lost. I realize this has happened at every th level, but it feels so much more magnified due to the number of stuff lost. Right now, I am sitting in Gold-2, trying to decide to push to Gold-1 or drop to Gold-3, thoughts anyone?

what is your trophy lvl? my guess is that you need to drop trophies. When I started at TH9 I stayed in silver 1 to gold 3 and had no issues keeping my storages full. As I progressed I move up trophies!!

Ok, this is not different than what happened to you as a TH8. Yes the amount is slightly larger, but you have 1 more storage to divide your available loot. Of course it will happen to you more as a newish TH9 than once you become more advanced. Your farming and layout will have to become more precise and refined. As with all games CoC will not get easier as you go along, as you progress certain things get easier, but most get tougher.

A few things you could answer so someone could help with your problem.

1) What is your base layout?
2) What are you farming habits? (i.e. league, session length, days per week, troop comp., etc)
3) How many builders do you have?
4) What is your clan priority farming, war, combo of both?

P.S. Hang in there TH9 is the best part of the game.

I just switched to Yango's Royal River farming layout, seeing as I NEVER come across that layout in my "Next"'s. Farming habits are typically GiBaArch and usually done 6a-3p EST-US, five days a week, with wars on the weekends. I have 4 builders and my clan priority is a combo with focus on farming and weekly war. I want to hang in there seeing that I am not the type to give up, but it is very frustrating at times, which is why I've dropped a league to hopfeully have a little more success.

At any point in your entire CoC journey, you will always get steamrolled by higher-level and more powerful/experienced players and losing lots of loot in the process. It's a natural thing. Just like how you attacked those TH8/7s for their loot as well..

The only thing you can do is to steal more from other players what other players stole from you. Raid more than what is raided from you. When people steal 300k from you, make an effort to steal 600k from others. How else are you gonna save enough resources for those expensive upgrades like the 14 day, 7 mil upgrade from lvl 2 to 3 Xbow?

Sorry, but if you are farming for 9 Hrs, you should be able to spend all of your loot. Not only that your storage's should be full and 300k wouldn't even matter to you.

As with all TH lvls, farm for a target that day, if you need to save one resource up try to minimize the other resources. Stagger your builders and time your farming such that your builder will be ready when your loot is.

FWIW: I never farmed th9 that low in trophies. I have had 0 issues farming in G1. Barch is love Barch is life! Try to make your own base design if that one is getting rekt.

This may seem irrelevant, but I find it is not....what level walls do you have? If using a farming base, the SCARE factor will lead to many more snipes if the walls are higher. It has little to do with the strength of the walls, but MUCH to do psychologically. I get a 20-1 snipe ratio with high level walls and tend to attack those with lower ones.

I have been sitting with 4-5M gold for a couple of days because all 5 of my builders are busy on defences (3 teslas, 1 xbow, 1 queen). Even with this, i haven't got looted more than 2 of my gold storages till now. And it's mostly snipes and failed attacks. I got about 140 lvl 9 walls too, staying in gold 1.
Maybe you walls levels are low? I don't know, i am enjoying th9 a lot. I never thought it would be so easy to farm. :o

stop breaking shield after every raid. If you raid 3 times in a row you will gain more than you can lose no matter what. Defenseless bases can save up resources so can you.
