Ignore the kids in this thread.
Loot has been good/bad, frequently changing, for the past few months now. It does not follow any specific pattern, and changes hour to hour and it sucks. Until SuperCell does something to make finding loot more reliable you will be gambling and just hoping there is loot when you want it.
I am also TH9 and I was getting loot okayish 3 hours ago, and now there is virtually nothing.
I was in Gold 1 to Crystal 3 and the loot was pretty good ( Storage and collector raid). Just keep looking and youll find the spot eventually :)
Just finished th9 (fully maxed and a tad over half lvl 10 walls). For me the Sweet spo t in finding TH8 sleepers or TH8 rushed bases that where easy to smash was 1400-1450.. Easily found 400k (combined gold and elixir). Sometimes it would be slower than others but that what what worked for me
I've thought about this a lot actually at TH8. Farming in Silver I, there was certain times of the day the loot was consistently better, but than other times it was really bad. I just thought I was thinking to much into it, but maybe that's the case, and is something SC needs to address. Currently I'm in Gold II, so I'll give it a try.
