Separation of Clan Strength from Clan War Victories

Presently the title that the “Top Clan” displays is misleading. As a relatively new player to CoC, I initially got the impression that through clan war performance, our clan could possibly move up the ranks and someday acquire the title of “Top Clan”. After a few wars and some research, I was surprised of how the Top Clan was decided although I do realize that this may be due in part to SuperCell not making any adjustments to the tab after the Clan War update.

My suggestion is not to change the Top Clan tab information or the calculation but to change the title (maybe to Strongest Clan ?) and to add a tab strictly for Clan War wins (maybe Victorious Clans ?).

The proposed changes are expected to:

• Allow clans to compare their strength to other clans with the Strongest Clan tab (as they can do now with the Top Clan tab)

• Allow clans to monitor their total war victories compared to other clans with the Victorious Clan tab (something players cannot presently do although players have already shown a need for this information Props to F0XY for starting

Now in regard to the present reward system in place for the Top Clan, I would say leave this in place for the amended/revised Strongest Clan winners. However also add the same prizes to the top three winners of the Victorious Clan tab in a similar fashion, which would essentially reward active war clans (and essentially create more competition in clan wars).

Create a new tab to show clan war victories and implement similar rewards system as found in present Top Clan tab. Then change title of Top Clan tab title more to something that reflects the Strongest clan instead of calling them Top Clan.

Reward for top clan war winners isn't likely to happen since the efforts is tied to the clan rather than the players. Someone new who hasn't helped the clan at all could get free gems

Same thing could happen with the present Top Clan system. All that needs to happen is a player with a high amount of trophies enters one of the top clans and becomes one of the top 10. Just like that, Bam, he receives free gems.

Not exactly. The main point I was trying to make is that the reward is tied into the clan rather than personal effort with top war clan gems. If I have 4k trophies, I can take that with me if I leave the clan and add to the ranking of the clan I join. With helping a clan win clan wars, it does nothing for you once you leave. Even worse, someone can kick you out due to some dispute and all your hard work is gone.

Also unlike trophies, it's extremely difficult/impossible for new clans to get to the top now. With trophies, you can at least spend months pushing to become a top 200 player. With wars, you can't make it go any faster for your clan so you'll have to leech onto another clan's progress

So let me ask this:
If the idea was suggested without the rewards, what would be your opinion?

Indifferent for the most part (not bad, not great). It's something that seems like the game should have since clash of clans = wars are a big thing = more important to show top war clans than top trophy clans. However, it favors clans that always wars even if they're bad at wars and older clans.

A clan with 80% win rate and 100 wars will be showcased instead of a clan with 100% win rate and 50 wars. It feels a bit strange to put the the 80% clan above a 100% clan.

Also to be honest, I just read the tl;dr portion which was why I just talked about rewards

Edit: Also since SC doesn't seem to want losses to be shown, I don't think a win % works

I agree with your statement. For it to be total accurate, SC would have to recognize/show win rates or at least losses in game. From my experience working with these type of game designers however, I decided to make the idea very simple at least as I believe there is a definite need for the tab related to clan war performance.

You didn't have to tell me. I could tell from your first post. I do wonder how many people did the same and voted based on that very small portion of the idea, ignoring the true purpose.

Bad idea, the rewards are unreachable due to reasons already explained, and it is for that same reason the a leaderboard is also a bad idea.
Plus it wouldn't be able to distinguish between a clan of th2s and a clan of th10s either.
