You should hire guards to defend your base when you get attacked.
this is stupid, it's your own fault for being in gold II while you are not strong enough to be there, yet you blame others strong people in gold II because they attacked your base.
frop down to lower league if you are weak, higher league are for the strong, and strong are not just from the building level, but the player's tactics as well.
low level TH can survive in higher league with excellent tactics. i guess your skill as a player is very bad.
Your experience level has nothing to do with being attacked by higher players than you or not ! your league does!
and thats how the game works lower level can attack higher level towns and vice versa, best attacker wins !
if u dont want to get hit so much by higher level towns then keep your th outside , lower your league and get rid of your resources as soon as you.
Try dropping trophies...
You might be able to bully some Lvl 40 players
As a max TH9 exp (113) I am searching for TH8's with loot, I don't care what level they are, if they have loot and they are in my attack range, they are fair game. It's part of the game, you should be doing the same with TH7's in Silver league.
If you want to put off TH9's smashing you, keep you loot low, good base design, central CC and high level walls are what you need, you also need to start upgrading those TH8 defenses quickly. post your base design, I am happy to point out major shortcomings.
If you insist on playing in a higher league, try leaving your TH outside, obviously unprotected with a sweetener, such as a Dark drill, to help tempt someone to give you a cheap shield, and accept sometimes someone like me will flatten you anyway.
My troop cost is approx 120k Elixir, so
If you have less than 150k/150k I will generally leave you alone, unless you have near 1k dark or loot is slow.
