Explain the trophy situation to me please

Trophies are by far the stupidest part of this game. Except for the top players that only worry about trophies, they are useless to judge how good/bad a player is. We all just try to stay is a reasonable level to get the resources that we need.

It's also a waste of gold when we have to skip past the way-to-low and way-to-high bases when we're raiding. Just match us with bases near our level and we'll all be happier.

Also, take the town hall out of the equation for non-war attacks. I would like to really see how good my base design is, but always leave my TH outside to help protect my resources. If stars were just based on percentage destroyed it would be much better.

It would take further investigation which I am not willing to do, but I've noticed that whenever I encounter a base with the TH outside, the cups offered is lower. I also have noticed that higher offerings tend to be whenever the TH is central and there are troops in the clan castle. I've never taken into consideration my cup count vs opponent cup count. That being said, I've also never encountered a village with high cups offered where the cc was empty and/or the TH outside and not trapped.

EDIT: I've been staying in the 1900-2200 range

You're just seeing the effects of cup differences through a different lens.

Higher trophy count-> more likely to have Th inside, CC full
Lower trophy count-> less likely to have TH inside

Higher trophy count also means higher cup offer (more you can win) and lower trophy count means lower offer.

Since people in high trophy ranges usually have TH inside, and those bases are worth more, of course you associated TH being inside with being worth more. But, it's not a causal relationship! If a base at the same cup count has its TH inside or out, it will not affect the cup offer AT ALL.

Trophy gaps completely determine how large the offers are. Any other effects you notice are a product of this fact.

Exactly right; People that value cups will have a base designed to win on defense, with less regard for loot, meaning that they tend to have a higher cup count.

why should I be limited to only people my level? if I need to farm and you're base has 300k loot but the other guy who is my level doesn't then you're mine. if you're too high in trophies then go down it's simple. also that war percentage thing is a no they shouldn't do that I can understand for lower level guys but for people like me who sometimes get matched up with an inferno without freeze that 50% and town hall for two star is a god send. oh yea and some people actually like attacking people higher than them.

It is all do with the difference between attackers trophies and defenders trophies. I usually keep my trophies low to farm to my hearts content so I have th on the outside. every now again I will try and revenge someone who snipe me. my biggest gain so far was 62 trophies for one attack I only got this as his base was much higher in the trophy range than me.

That depends on the trophy difference of the attacker and the defender.
