What makes a TH9 base Anti-Lavaloonion?
Centralized level 7 ADs, Xbows on air/ground
Single target infernos don't make it anti lavaloonions imo... it will help the loons get easily get throuh.
I would say having your 4 air défenses covering TH but not too close to each other.
Same with your 4 wizard towers
Infernos close to TH but not too close to each other so you can't freeze both same time.
xbows set to air and ground.
Avoid making it easier to freeze multiple air shooting elements (eg. inferno + wt + ad in one freeze).
I'm usually attacking using lavaloonions in CW, and certainly would avoid bases like this...
btw : If you mean a TH10 with 240 spaces in camps & lava 3 attacking a TH9... there is nothing that really can make your base avoid being crushed if attacker is good. But that's the way it's intended, a good TH10 should be able to 3* any TH9 with max TH10 troops...
2 Seeking Air Mines on the 2 AD FARTHEST away from the AQ. Centralized AQ with 1 xbow in the core, not 2. Wizard towers out of range of the AD so they target loons, not hounds.
Pathing to the AD is hard. Example.
AD with a non defensive building in front of it and another defense to the side and diagonally to it. Like this.

Minions, wiz, and archer combo work best
Frankly, all four centralized AD is a bad idea. I tried the same thing with Kamikaze's Baconmaker (That has 4 Teslas and 2 Xbows in between the 2 pairs of air defenses) and got 3 starred as the balloons can easily sweep through the core. And yes, my base is maxed except I have a lvl 25 AQ.
Oblong placed ads and wiz tower placed in such a way that they won't lock on lava
My theory
Small things like a central hard to get to Archer Queen
and not grouping AD to closely, also Seeking Airmines right next to the AD to hit Lavas and the regular Airmines in places where they are less likely to hit a lavahound and more likely to hit minions/loons is very helpful
a number of good points have been made but a key is to create a spread out base and a flight path where hounds and loons are not in formation with each other......asymmetrical AD placement helps and keep as many defences out of core because the loons will swarm to them and with rage it is all over very quickly. I note OP specified TH9.
What tyler25419 said. I also have found that having no defences in the core (other than cc, air bombs, and heroes), can be dandy. Loons path around the core and minions/ pups get blasted by air bombs when they move into the core.
Correct. AQ in core and not nearby any AD is the key. Because if nearby, attacker will send in 2 lava to sit on top of the AD, AQ will be shooting at the lava, once 1 lava break into lava pups, place heal spell straight away so that the next lava able to tank the AQ attack. The pups will take down the AQ in no time.
Another important tip: TH9 base difficult for lavaloons attack is to make your cc unlurable and place a dragon inside. This is the best to defend your base.
One thing people dont talk about is how Xbows
I honestly believe they would be better off not being in the center and maybe the 2nd layer
In the middle you want an unlurable CC, AQ, 1 or 2 air defenses with the rest spread out but not on an outter layer and no Teslas
Teslas are the most important thing for an Anti-lavaloonian base
you have to put them in trollish locations where they will reroute a ton of balloons and make them clump for those line spamming lavalooniers
I want to experiment with putting 1 tesla in a far off corner with 1 or 2 air bombs covering it like people do with anti-Hog setups
You would also place the tesla in a corner where the person won't want to drop a Hero to destroy it since itll be useless after that
then the final thing is putting the 2 skeleton traps away from where lavapups will be and stack them near each other
When cleanup occurs during lavaloon attacks those skeleton traps could easily make the attack a 1 star by destroying all the loons and a few lavapups
These are by no means "anti"... but help a little bit:
Wiz Towers in AD range, ADs out of Wiz Tower range - Prevents splash damage shut down.
Seeking Air Mines triggered at ADs with no Wiz Towers in range - for Lavas.
Air Bombs only triggered at Wiz Towers with no ADs in range - for Loons.
ADs in Teslas and X-Bows range - Helps kill Lavas.
