DE Zapping

This is a pretty common issue among TH8 and up. People constantly make a full spell factory of Lightning spells, and drop the ALL on the Dark Elixer storage then run. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that is annoyed by this cheap and disgraceful tactic.

This brings me to my request.

Make loot from any storage be exponential,
i.e. only get 25% loot from doing 50% damage to the building, or something along those lines.

Or, make Lightning spells unable to steal loot and only do damage to the buildings
(Loot will still be gained afterwards, only slightly faster to compensate missing HP.)

Most of them are permanently online (One collector always hervested)
Lots of the usually have really low amounts of DE, so you only get half back, then they zap again.

You know if you weren't 500 trophies lower than you should be, you wouldn't be getting zapped by people who have no chance to get at your DE any other way. Why don't you move to your proper range and open yourself up to attackers who can raid you properly instead of "cowardly and disgracefully" hiding from them.

Also, you can't revenge somebody who's revenged you. That implies you attacked them first.

If you push down to escape being raiding you open yourself to this instead. So you cant have your cake and eat it too, either move up to where guys can attack instead of zap (they will because zapping is too inefficient) or be glad you aren't getting completely cleaned out with full raids and just be at peace with this perfectly fair and acceptable tactic that is an intentional part of the game.

I think the spell should 66% or even 50% on storages or maybe just the de storage. Its a direct and simple fix.

Zapping is a part of the game.

Rather than restricting those who do use it, I suggest you take advantage of it too.

Then you can neither raid nor zap them. So get someone else instead.

Raiding is better. Quite honestly zapping is a waste of elixir because it is expensive and time consuming to make the spells and you don't get that much back for your trouble. the only time guys do it is when a person has pushed themselves really now to hide from raids so the bases that get them in their opponent search have no chance of raid so they settle for the lesser consolation prize.e.

This would be wrong. and hurt the game. You know that too so I don't know why you would continue to suggest it every time there is a thread.

Why not stop trying to land freebies for yourself and instead work the forum to seek ways to improve the game?

Just attack them back when you can

Seems simple enough. If they are online when you are then watch their camps. When full and spells done just keep,hitting revenge. Eventually you'll be able to attack them back. Watched my cousin do this yesterday when he was zapped. They stole about 700, but when he revenged he got 1200 back along with about 300000 each gold and elixer. He just had to keep hitting revenge until the guy went to attack. He said he's also seeing more and more lately where they hit his th and then only use one spell on his DE as if the smaller amount won't get them revenged. Lol he hits them back anyway. I think it's his favorite part of the game.

This is the only solution I've seen on DE zapping that I like, and many moons ago I pushed for this very thing myself.

Exponential loss is logical. And this won't affect lightnings like many other ideas for it's various other uses. Such as double tapping mortars; triple tapping air defs, tapping huts/alters for last 1%/2%, zapping CC troops. Etc.

Also if someone attacked you fully and did half or 3/4 damage to the storage. Lightning at this point would be extremely valuable.

Just won't be as profitable to the zap and runners.

I have to agree, this one suggestion is one of the most refreshing suggestions I've seen to the zapping problem. I'm assuming that it would apply to all types of storage (including collectors), and it would apply to all types of damage.

Also, if I understand the suggestion correctly, the word we're looking for here is "quadratic", not "exponential", but maybe that's just the math geek in me.

For example, 10% damage would get you 1% of the loot. 20% damage would get you 4%. 30% damage would get you 9%, etc. By the time you get to 90% damage, you've gotten 81% of the loot.

Viewed another way, the amount of loot you get with each attack (assuming a constant rate of damage) would increase linearly. In other words, the first 10% damage steals 1%. The next 10% damage steals another 3% (total 4%). The next 10% damage steals 5% (total 9%). The next 10% damage steals another 7% (total 16%). By the end, the final 10% damage steals 19%.

I'm not saying I'm totally in favor of this idea, or that it would have a positive impact on gameplay in general. I can see it going both ways. It certainly would make it worth it to deploy a few troops to finish off a storage or collector, and it would take away the incentive to deploy a few troops to start on an undamaged storage or collector, unless you intend to finish it off. In that sense, I think the benefits to gameplay outweigh the risks. And it certainly would be a viable solution to the zapping problem. No, it wouldn't stop it completely, but it would make it less profitable, especially if you're a TH8 or lower and only have a 3 spell capacity.

Exponential. Quadratic refers to squaring, exponential means any power. I don't think he specifically wanted it to be exactly squared. Though I think if he called it quadratic it may still make sense, not sure.
Personally I am not a fan of this idea, it can be seen as a 'needless complexity' in any other scenario, and a direct reduction in the damage it does to storages is a lot more simpler while achieving the exact same thing for 99% of the time. The impact the exponential idea has on normal gameplay isn't necessarily a bad thing, it could just be seen as a new thing, but I don't see any particular benefits to it. For example when you say it reduces the incentive to attack a storage unless you intend to finish it, I don't see that as a good thing.

This just makes it safer for TH9-10 to drop into silver/gold and stomp around with no danger of being revenged. Zapping is good for the game because it offers TH7-8 at least a little bit of a way to bother/revenge/discourage people dropping to farm safely. Nobody should be "safe". The game is designed around the concept of taking, not protecting. You get a few defenses to make sure the attacker needs skill to wipe you but offense always has the advantage in this game (when things are equal anyway).

Don't like being zapped? Move up to where spells are too valuable to waste time building lightning spells. You'll still run into a moron who doesn't understand how to optimize their time but nothing like down in silver/gold. Problem solved.

No. This is litterally the Lightning rod twisted around. This wouldn't be fair to people who had legitimately made it to your dark elixir, were looting it, and died, because they wouldn't get the loot they deserved.

(the Lightning rod idea was better then this because it didn't penalize people who weren't zapping)

am always getting zapped by th 9 and higher ....usually take about 1000 ....i try to revenge but they are always online or have a shield and when i have oportunity they are not oferring much or they have a rreally hard base

Hi I am your pesky zapper, I like zapping DE tanks. Its what I do when a TH9 or 10 players desides to attack me.
Now if there is a TH7 player dumb enough to Zap my tank, I zap his tank (sooner or later) and flatten his village to ground lvl.
If you dont like zappers take revenge and if they took revenge you should have been more carefull.
Since its impossible to stay online 24/7 unless they found a way to ♥♥♥♥♥, you will almost always get a chance to take revenge.
Plz dont say its impossible, I havent got much players in my list that didnt get a revenge back, and those will get one soon.
Lightning damages buildings, damaging resource buildings gives loot. Get used to it.
Zappers arent the problem, the problem lies by the people complaining about it

Everyone is safe everywhere due to th sniping and free shields. So its not particularly related to zapping and it isn't relevant here in my opinion.
Your second part basically says that th7s are a greater threat to you than th10s, and that you should move up in leagues to be safe. That doesn't intuitively make sense (though it is arguably true I guess, depending on your existing defences, the stronger your defences the more true it is theoretically).

But another point is that gold/silver isn't particularly profitable for th9s and th10s in the first place, so its more like if you want to farm safely you have to farm off of the crumbs that you are safe surrounding yourself with. Again undermining your argument of safe farming and zapping as a counter to that, as it is already self-punishing.
