is maxing air def from 7 to 8 worth it you decide

I just started a upgrade ( yeah last wiz tower to level 7 ) on my th 9 and it got me thinking about stuff when eventually I move on to th 10

so I was looking up some stats and kinda saw some thing a tad bit off,,,

it made me ask myself is it really going to make a difference if I max out air def when I go to th 10

I did some math and as it turns out I don't think its worth it

let me show you my math

first... I am using max balloons vs damage done by air defense to see how many shots it takes to destroy balloon

and second I am using max dragons vs damage done by air defense to see how many shots it takes to destroy max dragons

max balloons vs air defense damage

air defense level .... damage per shot..... amount of shot to destroy... amount of shot rounded up

air defense 1 ===== 80====== 6.8 ======= 7 shots

air defense 2======110 ===== 4.95 ======5 shots

air defense 3======140======3.89======= 4 shots

air defense 4 ====== 160 ===== 3.4======= 4 shots

air defense 5 ====== 190====== 2.8 ====== 3 shots

air defense 6 ====== 230====== 2.3======= 3 shots

air defense 7======= 280======1.94 ====== 2 shots

air defense 8======= 320 ===== 1.70======= 2 shots

as you can see,,,, air defense 7 and 8 take the same amount of shots to destroy a maxed out balloon

now lets see what the air defense is going to do against a maxed out dragon

air defense 1==== 80 ==== 31.25==== 32 shots

air defense 2 ==== 110==== 22.72==== 23 shots

air defense 3=== 140==== 17.85 ===== 18 shots

air defense 4==== 160====== 15.62 ==== 16 shots

air defense 5 ==== 190====== 13.15 === 14 shots

air defense 6===== 230====== 10.86 ==== 11 shots

air defense 7===== 280 ====== 8.92 ===== 9 shots

air defense 8===== 320====== 7.81====== 8 shots

as you can see maxing out a air defence to level 8 only kills the dragon 1 shot faster

but the cost of upgrading the air defense is 7.56 million

this got me thinking about the order of maxing out a th 10

wouldn't it make sense to not max out defense building first but instead max out troops/ spells and walls first .. then worry about defense buildings seeing they are not really helpful in maxing them out

yes at some point you will max them,,, for bragging rights but as I have shown you using the air defense as a example .. I think my order of upgrading when I get to th 10 has changed

Offense is always king in this game, however infernos and xbows are the exception as they stop people from attacking you, not just purely dmg, id say get them then all on offense over defense.

had to fix the post when I posted it moved all my columns

Even if you decide to upgrade other defense it would be 6M+ cost each, and the cheaper upgrade is tesla to max only 5M.

if i was on your position i would upgrade it if i have enough gold.

but I was trying to say on the defference between lvl 7 and lvl 8 air defense

there really is none

so when it comes to what to upgrade first ,,,

I would say leave all defenses if they are th9 maxed alone

do walls and spells and troops first

I love how you assume that your archer towers, wiz towers, air bombs, infernos, etc. are doing absolutely nothing. The 160 extra dps you get from upgrading 4 air def from level 7-8 makes a huge difference.

You did the math wrong. You're assuming only one of them is targeting one thing at one time.
What if they cover each other?
Or the combined effect?

You could go through every upgrade in the game and determine whether or not it was worth it.
Look at wizards to lvl6 for instance. Small upgrade? yes. Is it worth it? Well you attack me when I have lvl6 wiz in my CC and you tell me.

of coarse other defense buildings would be doing something

the extra 160 dps does not matter I clearly have shown you that the amount of shots needed are not worth the 7.56 million

1 extra shot for a dragon,,, and no difference for a balloon

I could do the math for each and every troop,,, but I bet the pattern would be similar to this

I chose these 2 troops because they are the most common air troops used

a max dragon has 2500 life points ,,, a max balloon has 545 life point

air defense 7 takes the exact amount of shots to kill a max balloon as a air defense of 8

the math is there,,, don't believe me get out your calculator

I am sorry how did I do the math wrong

I am saying how many shots does one air defence need to kill each of those 2 troops

not both troops at the same time vs the air defense,,, not talking about the damage other buildings will do,,,

omg ,,, I am not saying if the world was at a 90 degree angle on a Tuesday on the third week of the solar calendar of the planet moo moo,,,

one air defense ,,, vs 1 maxed dragon
one air defense vs 1 maxed balloon

pretty simple to see the results

Everything is worth it.
