If I had the time Id totally rush a TH along with collectors, mines, storage units, camps, and CC to maxed 10. No walls and I guess 1 lvl 1 cannon. Then get to champions :p. It would be fun!

I personally prefer to have my Inferno Towers behind my Xbows ... they're much more lethal.
and yeah, your walls are like red to a bull ... they just make people want to attack your base.
Finally someone hit on the fact that my walls attracted attacks. I have somewhere around 1450 successful defends and successfully defended several times while in Champion league. I have, in fact, never personally seen a profile in the game with more successful defenses than I have. Players attack with incomplete armies when they see those walls, they underestimate and fail.
As far as splash damage being exposed, its placed to prevent the 50% barching which admittedly could be done by players who are good at it. Plus its not like my resources are completely hanging out on the edges - they are relatively protected. But honestly, ddaman, mentioning the splash damage makes me question your skill because mortars are just about the most pointless defense structure when you go above Master 2. My wiz towers are placed to stop wallbreakers.
I do have a base with the infernos in tighter and xbows around but it happened to be this base when I 'made it'.
I mostly want to point out that so many players just stop playing trying to upgrade those boring walls - I chose to keep going with bigger upgrades and max troops (I used gowiwipe). Also I don't buy gems and walls cost as much gold as all other upgrades combined - just sayin'.
My base is not the best ever but I never googled a base or copied a layout... ever.

I think it's a decent setup. No base is perfect. Like you said, seeing those gold walls would make me want to attack without even looking at the lvl of your defenses in champions. I'm sure some one will be copying this base in the near future
I can't tell if you rushed or not....... Where do you spend all your gold??????
Just on big defenses - max x-bows and infernos. Also I almost always raided for elixer to upgrade my troops and let the gold accumulate on its own. My elixer achievement is much higher than my gold.Quote:

It funny I actually did something similar and have max D for TH 9 with all purple walls, which I think are one above the gold (it has been a long time) I also find that people will attack with weird army comps, and did not think about how my walls were attracting them in.
That being said now that all my defenses are maxed I have been slowly working on my walls and my DE upgrades. Only have a few left, but the walls will take a long time.
Part of the reason I never worried to much about walls was that I figured they just needed to funnel things and 1-2 WBs would take out most level walls anyway.
Anyone can get to champion league TH sniping. Base design has nothing to do with it. The true test, is if you don't do any attacks for a couple weeks and just rely on defenses. If you are still in champion after that. Then you have a solid design.
Layout is kinda... meh. Walls are about as sturdy as butter, you really should upgrade them. But good job on Champs!
I did not TH snipe into Champion. I would however usually attack bases who's heroes were down. It wasn't easy for me to get up there but it certainly helped my gowiwipe skills doing it. I recommend pushing past Master 2 just to get better at attacking if you are high level th9 or 10.Quote:

But early in the game I found a price point for walls based on cost/hp. Then I just focused on upgrading other things until I was a th9 up in crystal. Another side point is that I have never put my TH outside - principle or something I guess.
My reply to the poll is: not applicable. I will never have either situation. It is like asking me if I would rather lose an arm or a leg. Sorry, but through careful control over keeping my limbs attached to my body, I am able to keep all.

Besides, in your scenario - Unless you are a TH10 with max walls and defenses - you have neither arms nor legs.
Level 5 walls!! It's an awesome idea.. I'd go for it my self -th8- if I saw decent loot.
But my question is when u reached up master how many winning Defences vs lost ones ,, please be honest
Honestly - 4 successful defenses to every 1 defeat (and half of those 1 star). On top of that the defeats almost always came after CC troops were dead and heroes were down.
Remember the walls attract inferior players with random armies. The percentages of strong players with full strength armies is not that much compared to players looting with giants or hogs.
And I defended in Champion League several times. 1 time in particular against a full attack with strong heroes.

Exactly. Getting high up in trophies is more about attacking than defense. After about crystal 2, you start getting full attacks pretty muh constantly that will 1 star you at LEAST. So I prefer to farm and hope to lose 5-10 trophies per snipeQuote:

I don't have any screenshots of my defense log from that time. Sorry but you'll have to take my word for it on the following:
If you look at my profile you will see that my highest trophies are 3251. This is the result of 2 successful defenses after I made Champion with a 1 star attack or 2 in between.
I usually got 1 starred above 3000 trophies but occasionally I would get a victory if I made sure my heroes were healed and CC was full before logging off.
I would get 2 starred also but usually it would only cost 1-5 trophies as the attackers were above 3500.
And of course there's the Lavaloonion attacks that were the most successful but that just adds to the walls being irrelevant.
Well good work. I don't know how you had the self control not to upgrade them. :D
Nice job! I recently pushed with a TH7 base to crystal and whenever I got off someone would full on 3 star revenge me for 40 trophies, so I can somewhat imagine how awesome this feat was for you lol
Nice job! I'm a farmer not a pusher so the highest I've been is Masters 3, I want to try to get to Champions though.
