Is the clan castle necessary in wars?
I get the group-themed purpose of clan castle donations and am all for them during non-war periods. I donate every time I see a farmy/defense request or if I happen to have the specific troop requested. However, during a war, I feel like the song-and-dance that is finding a way to penetrate the CC radius and then lure the oblivious defensive troops into a trap and then waste precious troop space to have an army v army fight instead of the army v defenses fight the game was intended to be is awkward and unnecessary. There are several layers as to why I feel this way: the first is what I mentioned above. The game is supposed to pit an army vs a layout of walls and defenses. The troop v troop aspect isn't what anyone plays the game for. The whole aspect of luring troops seems like a strange loophole found to avoid the opposing player's intended defense boost that can't be avoided and is now just "a part of the war"...as if eventually we all just had to become accustomed to people having a third arm because it's just the way things are now even know it wasn't meant to be. Having extra protection from your clan mates is a cool idea but L5/6 wizards are far too OP to take on without a silly dog-and-pony show of luring them to a corner to "jump" and THEN begin the actual fight. That brings in another aspect. A diverse clan with a puny TH3 that is just starting up gets ready to fight the opposing lower-level clan member of the opposing clan and is expected to get into a firefight with L6 wiz or an L3 drag in the corner with their low-level archers or L1 wiz if they even have it. At that point it just becomes a fight between the low level player's cc troops, as if two kids wanted to fight but had to let their dads fight each other first. It just seems kind of out of place/half-baked and I feel like I would be happier if my army was pitted against my opponents defenses and layout, and vis versa. I hope I'm not alone in that.
