Co-Leaders Shouldn't be able to promote other Co-Leaders

Hi,
I have a clan and I promoted my friend to a co-leader. I promoted a member to an Elder and my friend promoted him accidentally to a co-leader. As you know, co-leaders can promote others to be co-leaders but they can't demote them. This person didn't do much as my friend called me and I demoted him immediately.

Why Co-leaders can promote others to be co-leaders?
I think a co-leader is an important position that must be done only be the leader. It's a responsibility for the leader and the co-leader.
Making the co-leader able to demote other co-leaders doesn't fix this. What if the bad co-leader demoted the good one?

In real life, the minister doesn't appoint other ministers. Right? Maybe he can appoint his co-minister.
So, the co-leader doesn't promote others to co-leaders but he still can promote people to elders.

This is my opinion.

I'm sure with this logic SC will change it immediately.

As convenient as it is to give back Co to a clan hopping friend, I do agree, it is rather odd that Co-leaders can do that. I'm sure there was some logic for that, but I can't think of what that could be. That would protect many clans from making the mistake of promoting just one poor Co-Leader. It only takes one after all...

I tend to agree with this. There are those that will say you need to pick your co-leaders wisely but in the end, it's the leaders clan, so only he/she should be able to pick his/her co-leaders.

I disagree with this because leaders shouldn't give people co-leaders unless they know they can actually trust them and when they do get co-leader they should know the rules about who and who not can be promoted to co.

If you look at a Co-Leader for what it is (someone who can act in place of the leader) then this ability makes sense. In this small scenario it may seem counter intuitive, however there are many others that require a Co to act as a lead. Not the least of which is in case something real life happens (which always trumps) that makes the leader unavailable, the clan can still clash on with a good Co at the helm.

The problem is people cant grasp the concept what co leader means, think about the co owner of a business shouldnt they be able to do what they want with their business.

This analogy is incorrect. A co-owner of a business is one of two or more owners. In CofC, a co-leader is not one of two or more leaders since there is only one leader. President/Vice President is the better analogy. There is definitely a hierarchy there.

I think it's fine as it is, co leaders are [should be] highly trusted individuals.

If clans are not appointing co-leaders properly it is fault of the clan; not the position SuperCell created.
