Premium Currency (the currency you have to pay real money to get in almost every f2p game) is not supposed to be easy to get. It is the game developer's main source of income. SC is already more than generous enough with free gems. Infinitely regrowing trees, achievements, gem boxes, etc. Enough people play this game so that they don't have to attract more people to it. They attract people by making a fun game.
and they should give us money too while were at it? i mean it would really attract a LOT of people this way and no one would need to buy gems. its hard to get gems for free for a reason and that reason is buying would make it easier and thats how they make money its already attracting due to the fact that it gives us gems fromachievements and clearing obstacles be glad of that
I understand that it's free to play and F2P means Pay to Win. It's always been the case, and will always be. It's nice that we have achievement to get gems and stuff and the low gems from obstacles, however, at later stage of the game where you have to wait days for an upgrade, paying 500 gems or more is ridiculously expensive. And you have ♥♥♥♥ ton of them to upgrade. I think it's a good idea to INCREASE obstacle spawn rate, this way, people will always clear them and it will make player want to check the game more often even just to clear the obstacles. It is a good way to keep people active! Also, they could limit the gem obtainable from these obstacles i.e 15-20 gems a day isn't bad tbh..
I've played a few "free to play" games, and I can attest that most of them are horrible about making you pay to progress at anything more than a snail's pace. The amount of free gems/crystals/diamonds or whatever their premium currency is, is just pathetic.
Clash of Clans is extremely generous in my opinion. You already get enough free gems to boost multiple barracks or multiple collectors at least once a week. For a game that's supposed to provide many months if not years of gameplay experience with constant growth and development over that entire cycle, this is awesome. Most games provide days or weeks of gameplay.
I do agree that more gems at higher TH levels would be great for the players. But consider from Supercell's perspective: high TH players are dedicated fans. They didn't give up playing a "free to play" game after 2 weeks. They've stuck with it for many months. There aren't that many who commit that much time to the game. Those who do are likely going to be big spenders, so giving away more freebies will discourage them from being big spenders.
Don't get me wrong, I totally think that more free gems at higher TH levels would be fantastic. But I don't see it happening, and quite frankly I don't think it needs to.
