Clan Monthly Tournaments Idea
First off, I have searched and have not found this idea in the stickys posted. If I am blind and missed it, I apologize and please delete.
Idea:
Every month (or longer) have an elimination style tournament of 8 similarly matched clans.
Purpose:
Creates more competition within the game.
How will it work:
Tournament takes place over 1 week.
First Day - Clans choose to opt in to the tournament with their current roster, similar to clan wars. Use same matchmaking process as clan wars. Lock roster to prevent new players from participating in a tournament after matchmaking has found opponents.
Second and Third Days - 8 clans face-off. Clan 1 vs 2, Clan 3 vs 4, etc.
Fourth and Fifth Days - 4 Winners face off. Winner of (1 vs 2) vs Winner of (3 vs 4) etc.
Sixth and Seventh Days - Championship. Two remaining teams with a winning record face off.
Reward
Award the winning clan and runner up with prizes (maybe have a certain number of gem boxes spawn or a new decoration that changes based on the number of tournament wins you have been a part of). Base this reward on the same metric that war loot is decided, so every person in the clan receives an award appropriate to their level.
Misc.
- Do not allow a clan to enter a clan war if they are participating in a tournament.
- Do not allow a clan to enter the tournament if they are currently in a clan war. Add an alert to clan war search informing clans that a tournament will be starting within 48 hours and they may be ineligible if they continue.
- Allow clans to see replays of all battles in the tournament. This will allow clans to utilize their 3 war base preset layouts so that they may switch it up to keep future opponents guessing.
- Add a Tournaments Won stat to clan descriptions (similar to wars won stat)
- To improve matchmaking, limit tournament to fewer clan sizes. (Search for every 10 members rounded down instead of 5. 10v10, 20v20, 30v30 etc.)
