TH8 averaging 1 million gold an hour. When does loot start to get bad?

I'm an early TH8. Quick overview of where I'm at:

-160 skulls
-65 purps

For those of you wondering why I consider myself an early TH8 with 160 skulls, half of those were farmed during the event. I was using mass barbarians every 4 minutes and could pull around 2.5-3m an hour so my walls are way ahead of my defenses

Farming army switches from Bam to Barch depending on if I feel like farming hard or casually. Bam for when I can raid straight and Barch for when I only feel like raiding once in awhile
-Level 5 barbarians and archers currently upgrading to level 5
-Level 1 minions
-Barbarian king currently upgrading to level 7

All my defenses were at maxed TH7 levels when I moved to TH8 and my new defenses are almost up to speed with the rest. I leave one builder free for walls out of personal preference

I've read a lot of threads on here complaining about the loot situation and was wondering when you start to feel the loot penalty. Is this really only a TH10 problem?

even though I currently dont have a loot problem and have no idea why everyone complains. The loot does slow down at TH9. I assume (cause im not TH10 yet) that it slows down more when you upgrade.

Loot never gets bad if you know where to farm and can raid well

It slows down after every update and when SC tries to give perks w/o much thought into it.

(But, for barchers it probably never does. Even a 200K total is hallelujah caliber for them.)

What's "slowing down" to you? 150k raids instead of 200k+?

You seem to know what you are doing, so you'll be fine. TH9 is still easy, TH10 takes a bit more effort to find the right range and strategy.

It depends on much you play the game. On my town hall 6 account I keep my builders busy with just the resources from my mines and pumps. On my town hall 10, I have to raid maybe 4 hours a day (unboosted) to keep my builders busy.

You seem like you are doing great at town hall 8. In my experience, it stays about the same at town hall 9 but there certainly is a drop at town hall 10. I don't get full collector raids as often as I did at the lower town hall levels since people rarely get to town hall 9 or 10 before they quit the game. I barch but I go for 200k or higher only so that the league bonus gets me up to 300k combined most of the time.

It doesn't get bad..

I was doing the same around th8, 900k-1.2mil per hour

TH9 I've dropped to about 500k-800k per hour, so it is a bit worse for me

I've seen a small slow down going from a high level th8 to a low level th9 which I expect will pick up again with th9 farming troops. I've heard th10 is a whole different story.

Also the difference in cost has a big impact. The most expensive defense is around 3M I think (hidden tesla). The cheapest defensive upgrade at th9 would be about the same. Something like xbow lvl 3 costs 7M so even with the same farming rate starting that upgrade will take more then twice as much farming as any defense at th8. Yes the time of builds increases but not by as much as costs. Th8 needs to get around 400k per day per builder, th9 its 570k per day per builder and th10 its 810k per day per builder , plus you are more likely to have more loot on hand so you will lose more to raids.

Loot per day per builder is the total of elixir and gold,doesn't include any hero upgrades or walls. It also assumes the costs are the same throughout the entire time at that th level which they are not.
