Inactive Base Resurrection

Much of the loot complaints is about lack of bases to raid. Given that if everyone were actiive, taking loot from each other, with no injections of 'free loot' from somewhere, no one would get anywhere since resources would be used up in just trying to get at each other's loot since resource buildings don't produce that much loot very quickly at mid and especially high town hall levels.

League bonuses and inactive bases for people to farm is the lifeblood of the game economy.

That said, I have an idea on maybe fixing some of that.

Give inactive bases basic NPC actions at some point.

There is a mint of loot in the lowest trophy ranges, because resource buildings from inactive bases have uncollected loot, and inactive bases do not generate very much in terms of trophies. They slowly sink from where a player last left it, and become inaccessible to higher trophy people as time goes by with almost every looting done to it.

If such bases had basic NPC actions, (details not sure of yet), they will maintain thier trophy level better, and be available for looting by active players. Since they are not player ran, they can operate differently than normal. They won't complain about being looted, they don't have to obsessively collect loot from resource buildings, they can have near full storages and near full resource buildings, making one's day if found and hit for 100% damage. There would be more bases for farmers to farm at higher levels, there would be bases for storage raiders to crack open.

They would likely have to fight other players for trophies, but they would be basic raids, or scripted raids. Revenge attacks could be doable, since why bother giving them a shield? They would only break it anyway doing another scheduled attack later on down the road.

What do you guys think? NPC bases from inactive player bases? When a player comes back, loot would be reset to zero, since they would have lost it all anyway from being inactive so long, with only seed loot for starting raids, with something fair for trophies... Idk. Reset to zero as well? Not like they can't easily get them back with a high level base. Especially with so many more targets out and about.

They took them away because it fits their purposes for lot to be tight. I can't speak to those purposes except that obviously to promote gem sales would be an obvious one. Until enough people game they will prefer we all feel the pinch and buy our way out of it. They are looking at CW and not just general base growing to keep people interested these days.

Over 600 thousand of each gold and elixer and it was in gold 1. Don't think it was really inactive as there were plenty of traps. Just pointing out that good loot is still there. Course I stole it and spent it already!:o

the th snipers keep loot hidden from us by giving out free shields constantly. Darn them! Hope they hit my th next. And around and around we go....

Actually, I heard they near delete any bases, or something like that. Regardless, it would be thier (Supercell's) pre built 'NPC bases. They can make a script to grab as many or as few as they want. Net effect of logging back on after so many weeks or months would be the same, wiped storages, and trophy loss, player wouldn't notice a thing. Revenge attacks from thier base as an NPC would be void, and they can go about thier merry way playing again.

They can throttle forward or back the number of NPC controlled bases to fine tune the game economy. They can revive any kind of town hall base they want, being so many dead ones to now pick from, and have them rise to the proper trophy level for people to loot. If a base goes active, they can just grab another inactive base to control.

I commented a lot on this during the great loot drought of Sep-Dec. I actually stopped playing entirely except to help with wars. I simply couldn't justify wasting the volume of time it took to find a single base with enough resources to be worth attacking. That made worse by instantly losing it and more when I got attacked 30 seconds after logging off. Oddly enough I started raiding again 2 days ago and after falling all the way down into silver I am happy to report that while loot has not been awesome it has been acceptable climbing back up through G2. But back on topic . . .

Relating this to the economy of a town/state/country you have two basic sources of revenue. $$$ that is manufactured/grown/built by the full time residents and $$$ coming in from outside sources like tourists. Within CoC the full time residents are active players. They spend 100% of the outgoing resources while their mines, league bonuses and war loot represent the "manufactured" wealth of the game. The "tourist" revenue in CoC is represented only by buying gems and inactive players (players who don't spend anything, only get attacked).

It is widely accepted that SC has been actively removing inactive bases from the next queue although what qualifies as inactive is unclear. So except for gem purchases "tourist dollars" have effectively been removed from the game. While we all like finding those fat unattended collectors it is just BAD game design to base your economy on the existence of players who don't play. In the big picture removing them was the right decision. The problem is that they did not account for the backlash. The game had grown dependent on those tourist dollars and they all disappeared overnight. Can you imagine what would happen to a town like Key West if all tourism stopped instantly? Sure the town would still be there, and it would stabilize into something but the fishing there (locally manufactured wealth) would have NO chance of supporting the whole community.

Along those same lines, when the tourist dollars disappeared from CoC we had lvl11 collectors which were maxed at TH7, clan wars were more expensive than the rewards, and league bonuses weren't large enough to notice. Suddenly the entire game was supported by the production rate of TH7. Granted, TH10 gets two more collectors but that is a 17% increase in manufactured wealth and archer towers alone are 7000% more expensive at TH10 than they were at TH7. TH8/9/10 were forced to farm active players only which does nothing except move the existing money around until somebody spends it. Then there is less for everybody to steal next week, and next week, and next week . . . recession. The game was spending more than it was producing. As players leveled up the spending rate increased but production did not and the problem accelerated. SC's response was to open up elixir for walls. Overnight all of the elixir was gone and the game was largely unplayable above TH8.

SC rolled back lix4walls, added lvl12 collectors (creating a TH8 manufacturing foundation) and increased the league bonuses up in masters enough that it justified pushing again. It took a while for these small changes to stabilize things but it looks to me like the recovery, although slow is happening. Nexting is back to tolerable levels (the last two days climbing through gold anyway) and maybe we will get to a full recovery.

Specific to adding inactives back to the nexting queue . . . As I already said it is BAD game design to base things on the presence of players who don't play. They do however provide SC an huge, golden, fantastic opportunity to regulate the economy with near complete transparency and I strongly believe they should be exploited to the fullest. To do this SC would simply re-introduce them in some quantity as a way of instantly injecting resources into the game when the economy falters. For instance, right after a patch EVERYBODY spend like crazy to get the new stuff. There is an instant draining of loot an for a few days raiding becomes nexting again. SC could inject a few inactive bases into the queue to overcome that mini recession then take them away again without anybody really knowing. Just like having a festival can bring in more tourists at a specific time of year. In addition, since inactive bases end up settling in silver SC should ignore the trophy count of those villages. Instead set TH8 in gold, TH9 in high gold-crystal and TH10's in high crystal-masters. This would help balance the mini recession faster and discourage people from dropping to farm right after a patch.

Anyway, more than you wanted to read I'm sure but my short answer is no, they should not bring back inactive villages publicly. But yes they should exploit their existence occasionally with great effect.

As for the idea of bring back 'inactive bases...

• From a Mod's quote, Supercell can (but not obligated to) delete an account that is 180 days inactive, as per ToS policy.
• My idea of using 'inactive bases' would have them be more active than the current loot rich 'low hanging fruit' bases we have now.
• Such NPC bases would partly simulate player activity, except for actual base growth, and so just generate loot, but be a challenging target.
• Supercell's control of them, especially after 180 days of inactivity, can mean they can have a base 'ch3at' all they want, adding or removing loot and trophies as needed for thier purposes.
• There is an ever updating library of already made bases, good and bad in design, that can be used as NPC bases, now that the game has been around for a few years, with recent ones blending in better with current active base designs.

The only issue I can see coming up is the report of 'bot players', since they will have telltale signs of not operating as how normal players would operate. If added, they may want to replace League badges with some kind of NPC/Bot badge, so there is some transparency with players as to what is happening. Otherwise the rumor mill will have a field day with the news of rampant bot usage and demanding these 'players' be banned, when in truth Supercell not only would know that they are bots, but is actually running the bots themselves.

As for game economics, thier uses would be many; from regular use, to quick stopgap measures in loot fluctuations. What they can do is introduce some now, in a prescribed manner, and let things settle into getting used to it. If they need more or less loot in the system, they can quickly modify thier access to the 'next-ing' queue by adding or removing them. Can't remove what isn't there, so they would have to add some from the start as a kind of ballast for later. I'm sure the TH10 people would love a few of them introduced into the higher trophy Leagues to help them with the low loot access.

They can be used as a way to experiment with ideas or how game loot amounts affect gameplay. Someone said they want to fine tune loot amounts, and this would be a good way to do that in a very quick manner, without server maintenance downtime. The speed of which they can be used is limited to how willing they are to 'ch3at' with these NPC bases, for the good of the game. Remember, NPCs almost always 'ch3at', because they are dumb, and need a hand at fighting against (normally) smart players. :p

Have anyone got account delete after 180 days?
and i think get delete after 180 is harsh imagine you're max th10 with max heroes and all building just want to take a break bcoz u have maxx ecerything and next year just comeback and must over from beginning

This league season alone, I've won 136 attacks (so far). Add in all the attacks I didn't win a star, and clearly that's a lot of attacks in less than 2 weeks.

I don't see or understand what problem this is trying to solve.

Inactive bases are a joy... and who's to say their owner won't return someday.

Can after 180 days (paraphrase), if I saw the ToS quote right. It is a legal C.Y.A. (cover your @♥♥) thing. What they actually do in practice... you'll have to ask around. I heard "no they don't", I heard "yes they do" later on, so I can't say for sure. They have no obligation after 180 days, but they may keep them longer anyway, if server clutter isn't an issue.

Findable bases highly depends on what League you are in, and also Town Hall level. Later on, it will be an issue, but that's at TH9-TH10 apparently.

And I don't know, who is saying they won't return? I know I didn't. There is no telling when they will from Supercell's point of view. Some return soon, some return later, some will likely never return at all. It is a toss up with any given base.

I like this idea very much. More loot would make everyone happy, I think.:o

And the number you can find varies based on th level

Am I right in hearing there used to be NPC bases before, but not anymore.

If about bases to farm, they sank, like a treasure ship. They slowly lose trophies from wherever they start, sink down the leagues until they are all but unaccessible to anyone.

Well I went inactive and gave away a few million of loot so you're welcome for that. I also came back and got a million in revenues thus far so I wouldn't even want a feature to op out of anything. Supercell removes very inactive bases anyways. You also don't lose all your loot when you go inactive as you come back to full collectors as well :p

If done right, Supercell wouldn't need to do much extra work on game balancing if they took over these really old bases that sunk too low for most people to get to.

They would actually have a loot generating buffer they could control, making people happy now with a incress of good bases to target, and then would get the data needed to make a more permanent fix to the game. All the while, with players happily playing away, more or less unaware of any loot issues.
