Upgrade to Town Hall 9 or Not

Hello everyone, I am currently late town hall 8 and I was wondering if I should be upgrading my town hall to level 9 or not. The main reason I really wanna do this is to unlock level 9 elixir walls, since my storages are always full and going over feels like a waste.

I don't know if raiding will be hard at town hall 9 or not so I came here to ask advice, (I am a BARCH collector raider)

This is what my defenses are:
-Walls level 7 ( wanna do 8 and 9 at the same time, 8 using gold, 9 using elixir)
-Archer towers maxed
-Wizard towers level 5 (1 away from max)
-cannons maxed
-Air defenses level 5
-storages will be maxed soon

Is ur offence maxed?? If not do some drag raids to grab more d.e and continue with ur regular barch.

Nope, upgrade ur AD's and WT's first before going to th9.

How are your troop upgrades?

U should at least have the elixir troops maxed out.

Also u should get at least like 50 lvl 8 walls before going to th 9, u still have a long way to go.:rolleyes:

Upgrade absolutly everthing. that's what i did and its working out perfecftly for me at th9. I know you dont really want to hear this, but i would upgrade everything, down to the last freaking bomb and wall. Upgrade your troops as high as you can, but don't worry about de troops, you can max out the drills at th9, making more de than you can imagine

Upgrade all your defenses and at least 3/4 of your walls to skulls before upgrading your Town Hall!

If you are a barch raider you should absolutely NOT upgrade to TH9 without maxing everything. With low walls (and I speak from experience here) and low defenses (I had all of mine maxed) you will get eaten alive by TH10s once you move to TH9. At the same time your loot will vanish because all of those sweet juicy TH7s you have been hitting go away. You will only get 50% of the loot off of them.

So to recap, when you upgrade - you will get hit for all of your loot and you wont be able to raid nearly as effectively until you get level 6 barch... But since you can't hold the storage since you are getting raided all the time you wont ever get there - I am postulating a worst case scenario but believe me it can happen.

Finally, your idea to use gold on skulls and elixir on legos just wont work. At least not in the near term. There are too many upgrades in TH9 to spend your loot on other than walls. Get as many skulls as you can before hitting the button.

Of course, on second thought, nevermind. You should upgrade. I need another target. A nice premie TH9 with low ADs makes a great loonian raid. :D

If you're army camps, Barch, and spells are maxed, you can go. Don't listen to all these people who say you'll get eaten up by th 10's. Just make sure to empty out your storages before you log off. Rushing from 8 to 9 isn't as big of a deal as people think. I'm doing just fine at 9. Have both Xbows going to 3 as we speak. I had 60 skulls when I got here, now I have full skulls plus 60 Legos. The key to farming at th9, (and you can be successful with level 5 barch), is to farm for that full 2-3 hours and when you log off, empty those storages. If you can't empty them, ride out the shield. Don't drop shields after every raid, or you'll always lose gold/elixir. You can do this especially since you aren't worried about Clan wars. Just make sure to farm at around 1600-ish.

I raided just fine at th9 with level 5 barch, If you are an ok raider you'll do fine. I am definitely not the best raider. The loot penalty is there, but it isnt as bad as the above poster makes it seem.

No it's really not..lol ...Maxing is bad advice, generally given by people too scared to try. (Someone else told them they had to max, or they would never make it...lol...)

It actually is worth it in the long run. It is a lot easier to max the walls at th8 because the loot is better. You can't really raid th7's anymore because of the penalties, and th10's will be able to pick on you once you get to th9. In the end, do what you want. It seems to make more sense to stay and max out your walls now, but that's just me
