An idea to solve the cheap shield problem (always online)

Hi,

My idea is simple but I think is effective. Make it so when someone try to revenge a person and he shows as online, make the game send a request to the other person (saying for example "Are you online?") and make that request show in a random position each time. Also make message contain a single small button that says yes with a 15 second decreasing counter. if that counter is 0 then that person is deemed offline and an error message pops and can be attacked
Also make it so everyone can only get one request per hour from any person so they don't get spamed by those messages

the pros of this would be
1- no one can stay forever online like some do
2- everyone gets a fair chance to revenge anyone attacking them
3- give a warning for those who are actually online and that they are being watched and might get attacked soon

Cons would be
1- people who are actually online will know they might get attacked soon and might take extreme measures like buying a shield, which isn't that bad
2- Only works for revenge but not the search thing

What do you guys think?

Or everyone could just jailbreak their devices and stay on forever so nobody can attack anyone anymore :)

Based on his idea, this won't work.

I like this idea,
After they do something about the cheap shield, there will be massive change in TOP 200.
And that's better.

Not really get what u meant but lets see , u meant that if u send a msg to a person u want to revenge , if he reply means he's online , if he doesn't reply , then his game will automatically close n offline ?

Well almost.. what I ment is when someone wants to revenge someone else who appears online, will actually tell the system to notify the person who is being revenges with a message that pops on his device in a random position in the screen with a small yes bottom. if he is able to respond in a specific short time then he is actually online. Else he will be considered offline and made open for attacks

Actually, some people had posted a better idea.
Every few minutes, the captcha box appear and if they failed to input the right captcha then they will be logged off.

With the captcha kids or those who COC does not support their language will be an issue. Plus it's a game not a bank account to get that detailed

Easy, it's an example.
If SC implement captcha, then it would appear once every 30-60 minutes when there is no activities (attack, upgrade, moving structure).
Design a better base, upgrade your defenses so you don't have to stay online everytime.
One month ago I saved 3 mil gold and elixir without shield and wake up in the morning without losing more than 10.000 gold (TH7 silver 2).

Oops sorry. The reply was showing being posted by someone else

but still I think it needs to be simple so not everyone gets affected negatively by it because some players choose to use other methods and play unfair

Do some people jailbreak to be online 24/7? Where is the fun in that?

The game would be boring as hell if it was all one way traffic. They are robbing themselves of the true experience it has to offer.

If it is happening, then any counter measures that don't affect real players who play several hours straight at times* is most welcome.

*I have a few times myself, massively addicted haha.
