Gold III is the best place for you!
Crystal 2 & 3 treated me well when I was townhall eight.
Gold III. Has a decent amount of inactive bases, some delicious TH8s and TH7s with fat storages. DE is also quite decent there, found a couple of 1K> DE today. Also, it isn't inhabited by much TH9s that could flatten you.

I'm actually at TH8 and I find lots of abandoned villages in Silver I and II
There, almost no-one can raid me with high level troops and I can farm very well
Otherwise you could try in Gold III, but you could be raided by strongest players (it could be very difficult for instance protect your dark elixir)
Yeah, silver is a sweet spot currently. Im th9 and even I can find decent loots here. Many th7 and th6 inactives. Some th8 and th9 inactives too. 3 more than 1000000 raids this weekQuote:

Silver I and Gold III. I am town hall 9 and I farm in gold III.
1400-1550 is working out great for me. a little above this range will make me next a lot.
