Need major advice as a mid-late TH8.

As a TH8, if you saw a 9 as advanced as your base is, would you attack it?

There's half your answer.

If you were being revenged from another base and they were using troops of your levels, would you worry much?

There's the other half.

My experience? Max all troops except maybe gobs. Max Teslas. Max walls.

Too much elixir...make a couple of drag raids and target 1k DE or so. After you dump that elixir, move back to old army and repeat. Over the night make an army with drags as well.

Hypothesis 2- Max the last tesla upgrades while lab DE troops, focus skulls while upgrading to TH9, leaving the rest of the walls as a gold dump. This way I won't be wasting as much as elixir as I would if I stayed at TH8?

DE troops will take quite the time(still 6d to finish golem upgrade, then 12d for hogs to lvl4 and a total of 17d for minios 1->4).
There is also the part wich apart from one barrack still lvl 9, I don't have elsewhere to dump elixir(wich I'm starting to have too much).

I would suggest staying at th8 until all elixir (not de) upgrades are finished. In that time, you won't be wasting elixir, and you will still have better loot as a th8. once your hogs are level 4 (which will be your next lab thing, by the way), just store up de for other researches, hile you max out barracks for your th. Then do not wait, just go to th9.

I'm already doing this, to dump excess elixir and farm DE more effectively.

Like i said the only lab elixir upgrades I have left are the healer and the goblins and since neither of them are usefull now or in the future I won't waste lab time on those, when I can simply mass drag for farm gold (to walls/tesla) and DE(lab upgrades).
Of course hogs will be the next upgrade, already said it. :p

Healers? Max healers? (Also valks, though I'm less skeptical about them.)
