Doesn't seem to be to bad hanging on to DE nowadays. I've been sitting on 60k+ for a week waiting to start my golem research and I get my TH sniped probably 80% of the time. I'm nearly maxed though so that may be intimidating to most in silver 1!! I'm sure if I was in crystal I would get wrecked!

Also, you can get back to 1200 trophies afterward very easily. Only a day with barch will get you back up to gold or near- gold.

I just upgraded to th9, never bought a shield. Kept trophies at 1200, never got looted

if you raided full storages, and got sniped for a twelve hour shield, you could buy a two day shield and that would add on to the twelve hour shield and then you could let your collectors fill up in that time. I think shields are worth it for that transition period, very nice to have the most amount of loot possible.
