Is Buying The Week Shield Worth It?

Wassup guys not sure if this is the right area for the thread as this is only my second post but here goes. Just yesterday I finished all I wanted to on th8 and started the upgrade to th9. Got BK to 10 maxed all elixir troops and spells to max and hogs to lvl 4. All defenses maxed and barracks to lvl 10( both dark to lvl 4) and all skull walls except 9... I was really starting to feel the grind lol. Anyways I've had full elixir for about a month now (6,001,000). I had an iTunes card and bought a one week shield. Did some math, figured if I boosted both drills and lvl 12 gold mines for ten days I'd have enough gold to buy both Xbows( counting war loot, we war everyday).. And get the AQ. Do you guys think its worth to wait with the shield? Or loot myself finish the wall and hopefully get the 6 mil gold and 20k de for the queen myself or wait it out? Don't mind wasting the shield if u guys don't think it's necessary. Plus it makes the game boring when you can't play. I like to take others hard earned loot that's why I play the game haha. What do you guys think? All advice and comments welcome. Thanks!

Would have been better to just raid to fill your storages rather than boost collectors, but since you already bought the shield you might as well keep it. Boosted collectors will give you plenty of loot in a week.

Yeah I realize that now. Wish I would've just filled them prior. It's gonna be almost 1000 gems to keep my mines and drills boosted for ten days. Didn't know if that seemed like it was worth it since i could use those for barrack boosts etc. to loot

It is a waste. Boost barracks twice for only 80 gems and I'm sure you will get more than what boosted collectors would give.

You can go to sub200 trophies and it will be the same effect as shield. almost

I am planning to buy a week shield during my th8 upgrade in a month or so. You can likely still do what I'm planning on doing. My plan is to fill all storages then buy a 1 week shield so my collectors can get full. You should end up with 8.6 million of each and 85,040 Dark. Once TH gets done I plan to start both new storages, AT, AD, WT. Once the storages get done in 1 min you start the HT and AQ, then gem the AD and WT to start both Xbows. By then you will be done with the AQ and AT. Start both the lab and spell factory. Should only cost about 450 gems total.. Hopefully you have all 5 builders to make this work.
In the end you should have everything new for th9 started including lab and spell upgrading within 15 minutes of being TH9!!!

I hear you dude but nah only have the four builders. From what Ive seen the th9 lvl upgrades get kinda pricey so i felt I wouldn't even be able to keep five builders busy all the time. Only have 4 atm but maybe I should look into a fifth. And your strategy is quite similar to the one I'm planning on using when my upgrade is over

the upgrades will take a long time if you were maxed th8.. keeping 5 builders busy shouldn't be to hard. Or what I will be doing is keeping 4 builders busy and farming legos then eventually lavas with the 5th!

The shield is really not needed. I think it took me about 2 days to fill my storages and I'm not a hardcore player. Sure you may get raided a few times but that's no big deal. From memory it's very difficult to hold 40k de at th8 so if you have gems to spend id consider spending them on the AQ if you don't have the 40k saved. Otherwise just use gems for boosting barracks, heroes, sf.

I never understood the concept of paying real money to not play the game.

It kind of defeats the purpose of playing the game
