Yes instead they just run you over with fast build giants and take your loot. I have seen enough th9 raids to know the score I am also th10 so know how easy it is.

building and upgrading all storages is just not for bigger upgrades but in the first place it is the best defense for you!

Without one of the above two, they just don't do any serious damage to a TH9 who maxed his base at TH8. Even with them, it is a pretty expensive attack.
I am just telling my experience and what my giant loving clan does. I haven't even upgraded my new defences except xbows to lvl 1, and I am pretty safe. I am sniped most of the time, and giant raids hurt very little since I changed my base to take advantage of my solid walls.

Dude, there is no disadvantage to building that fourth storage. It should be one of the first things you do when you get to th9 because then they get less loot per storage. You say you can't defend it?? Yes you can you just need to rebuild your base!! That old th8 base will do you no justice anymore!! Time to move on my friend.
Yes there is as mentioned a couple of posts above. You'll be spreading your defenses thin, especially for new TH9 who don't have strong new defenses yet. Plus even if more is stolen per storage, the fact that a single storage is harder to get into might compel the attacker to just snipe and leave the storages alone.Quote:

The 4th storage is your best defense in th9. I would readily skip a new th9 with 8 storages, because it takes far too much effort and aq luck to hit everything. But I would hit a mid level th9 if he has 6 storages because it is way too easy to get at least 5 of them with aq and giants.
