Am just curious because i see some th 9 with th 8 maxed defenses only but have full legos, but some are maxed defense but full skulls.... while some have half lego and half skulls and are still starting th 9... same for th8 full skulls th 7 defense .. so when did you guys start doing your walls? ASAP? When your defenses are maxed? When is the best time to start doing walls in your opinon?
I max all my walls before going to the next townhall, which means I can do defences first on the next th, where my walls are still reasonable.
when I got to TH9 I did all the initial stuff like spell factory, clan castle, lab, and baby defences. Then once I was just working on defences and everything was 5+ days, I kept a builder free and dumped all excess loot in walls. Had Legos about half way through defences, and I remember I put my last cannon (very last defence) onto upgrade the same night I did my 100th lava... That's pretty much my process for every TH level.
When I first started playing I rushed th7 bad and I had no walls, but once I went to th8 after maxing th7 except for walls and I did skulls in a few weeks I became hooked on walls, now I do them asap
I play in 2hr sessions. I usually get 3m gold from that. If I still can't afford my next upgrade, I do another session the next day. Excess gold after upgrade? Walls!
Did the first 130 or so legos just pouring excess into them before starting an upgrade, now all elixir buildings are done and ive done 20 in a day (had full storages which all went into walls :cool:)

I had mainly wood walls until th5, then i had the two stone walls until th7 which i maxed. Half-maxed th8 at which point i became aware of smart rushing thanks to sharonsym, went to th9 with some purple walls because king was maxed and didnt want to waste de.
I have always thought that heroes and walls are for excess. Of course i farm them but I would never choose a hero over a troop upgrade or a wall over a defence. This is because the utility of a defence upgrade is always higher than a wall upgrade.

Soon as u reach a new TH lvl keep a builder free and start upgrading those walls asap!!.. It will be a gradual procrocess, But its worth it.. atleast close to 10 walls a day( make that your daily objective).. Maxed out defences are nothing if a barch army can just swarm in and take em down... Strong walls will keep em at bay 4 awhile... With super strong walls It will take time for most ground troops to raid all the way to the center of ur base leaving a trail of destruction behind themQuote:

From the very beginning I was kind of obsessive over my walls. It certainly slowed me down.
Didnt have a single skull until late th9, went th10 with half skulls....
Then raced to get max def.
Got all lavas now, but really never cared about walls while there was better stuff to do.
I had all Legos at th9 when my defenses were like th7 equivalent so I've been doing me for awhile

I never consider the step of upgrading walls before TH9. I upgraded my walls to skull at the end of TH8 after maxing all defenses aka get ready to upgrade to TH9 at that time. Somehow found myself almost puking after doing that step. So, at TH9 I upgraded my walls as much as possible between any building upgrades which I found it so fun and enjoy to do it. I recommend every clasher who can easily get bored through the times to upgrade walls to use this tips. Clash on! :)
Walls are never high in my priority list. I do them only after maxing defense towers and/or have excess elixir while the lab still working.
I do them before defenses. I still have th7 defenses but almost full legos and a core of lavas
The day 1 I get to a new townhall level I start upgrading walls whether 2 or 3 walls it doesn't matter. The concept is finishing walls with defenses or with a small difference between them. I've been like that since TH4 and now I'm sure it is successful
I always dump my excess gold to walls and just keep 100K gold for nexting and rearm. It is the most efficient way.
eg: Im TH8 and if I have a 3M upgrade with gold (tesla lvl6) and have 5,700,000 in my storages I will do 5 lvl8 walls before that upgrade.
Just never dump all your gold into walls because you cannot hit next.
Whenever you unlock them at th2 or th3
Started doing them when I started playing a bit more. Just upgrade walls with excess loot whenever I have a builder free. Say a 4m upgrade next I would spend 4m on walls before starting it.
Currently maxed troops and def TH10 grinding Heroes and Walls.
Ok...My point where I start upgrading walls is a bit strange :p
After I finish all my splash defenses,air defenses and teslas,I start to do walls,ignoring the point defenses,because yolo!

I dont even care about walls. I´m a TH 10 with mixed lvl 7 & 8 walls. Currently in Master 2 and still winning defenses because of those inferno towers. Dont forget that bases with low lvl walls are more likely to get attacked by people who are not so skilled at attacking.
I did mine when I had gold to spare ( or elix, for the few months my walls had the option). Mostly prioritized defensive buildings.
Might do it differently once I hit th9 though. Reading a lot about how doing walls before buildings might help in getting an easier war opponent.
If I have a builder left I do the most expensive def I can afford. If there is still gold left it goes into walls.
Walls are nice but much overrated. As long as you have def it will be better upgrading def as long as you have a minimum standard o walls (I think purple for mid to high th9s and pink for early th9s and th8s).
Upgrading to legos or lavas makes you a bit stronger but far less then upgrading to th10 and building 2 infernos.
They aren't as important as a lot of forumers here seem to think. I think you only need to do them when you notice the current level you have is not good enough. A good indicator of this is if giant/barb armies can readily get into your core.
But with the elixir-for-walls change (at the moment) starting with skulls -> legos, getting full skulls gives you the greatest flexiblity to improve them whilst farming for other things.
I went to TH9 with full purples, did 1/3 to skulls and then didn't touch them for six months. In the 2-3 weeks before I went to TH10, I farmed all the purples to skulls and 60 odd legos (thank you winter festival cheap boosts...).
Now I'm TH10 I do the odd lego with gold or elixir when I'm in danger of maxing my storages - it's hard to plan how much I can farm in the 2-3 days till a builder is free so sometimes I go overboard...
I used to do them in between the defense upgrades. Now that all defenses are done I am fully focused on them.
What I did was put 4 builders on buildings. Being a th 9, all my upgrades took 8+ days. So in that time,I used my remaining builder to go ahead and upgrade all the walls I could. Worked well for me because I'm still not max defense and I already started my lavas.
Started them late into th8 and managed to finish all level 8's right as my last defense finished upgrading. Now TH9 with 30 level 8's to go for all legos. Will soon be doing lava's! Exited to get the first few done. :cool:

Yep. This is what I do too. I do the walls all during a level, but I'll hold before upgrade to finish up the walls. At TH7 and up the labs take longer than all the building upgrades anyway, so you've got some time to kill waiting on labs :)Quote:
