its free "nexting" i dont care how they attacked me. i just dont have to pay to "next" and i usually find pretty good loot in revenges. im not revenging to get revenge, but to get resources
The higher you go, the less revenge you see (IMO) simply because of the bonuses you miss out on..........granted if you're showing 500k of ea avail on a revenge you'll prob get hit, but revenges are rare from what I've seen in M3/2
1. You had some loot
2. You had some trophies

About sums it up.
If you zap me, chances are you have more DE to offer than what you took from me. I also check my defense log and check any available revenges, youd be surprised how many of these active players have overflowing storages. 1 cup but 300k of each without the nexting cost is good in my book, at least when it happens lol.
1. If I am in need of DE I will revenge zap. Currently TH8 so elixir is overflowing
2. Start of a season. You get no loot bonus your first attack, so why not revenge
3. Higher chance of finding a nice base to loot. If they attacked you chances are they are trying to fill there storage's.
Because I cook Loonions some nights before I go to bed.
and they won the Luck-Day-Revenge-button lottery..and have;
1) loot that I can take
2) easy 20+ trophies I can take
3) tons of loot I cannot take, but feel nice enough to shield them with an un-trapped TH (sometimes for zero trophies)
4) I remember they shielded me feel like shielding them bak (since they have no loot)
but I usually don't get the chance to Revenge, because the majority of people on my list are "Online", "Shielded" have Zero-Trophies and or No Loot worth my armies efforts...
I find better luck and loots in the regular arena
