So you are going to rage quit after you accidently spent, what, $2.00 worth of gems. And if you have spent so much money on the game, how does this $2 really impact your life. Like others have said, take a week off and just collect your resources once a day. If you want to keep on playing, break your shield or play your second account.
I accidently spent $10 worth of gems on the game once (or rather my 2 year old niece did). What did I do, sucked it up and laughed about it and enjoyed the upgrade that I would have bought eventually anyway.

As others have said, the most likely cause of unwanted shield (or any) purchases is either a series of misclicks on your part, or someone else also has access to your account (ranging from a kid getting your phone to someone knowing your GC/G+ login and password). If you have suspicion that someone is accessing your account from another device, I would contact support from within the app and try to prevent them from doing further damage. However, I doubt they would be able to refund your gems.
