It sounds like you are aiming for quantity over quality.
Maybe focus more on recruiting and nurturing the right players rather than trying to make the numbers?
Our clan total varies from 15 members to 30+ members, but we have a core group of players who have stuck together and helped each other. As a result, we are a happy clan who operate in a good and effective way.
If you haven't already, check out Daddy's latest video about leading clans. He makes some very good points which, hopefully, could help you out.
Good luck with your clan.
My secret sauce is this: we are an adult war clan only. Meaning, I'm only interested in the best, so I only talk with the best. In global, I block out all the other noise and try to have real conversations with people. It doesn't always lead to the top level people joining us, but we have had a lot of great guys come and go for a war or two and really enjoy their company.
What you'll learn being a leader is just like in college football, you're always having to go out and recruit. It's a never ending cycle. If you don't like it, then don't be the leader. It comes with the territory. I have found that when we get over 30 members, people start acting all goofy in wars, etc. Keeping it around 30 members is ideal, in my opinion.
Also, for war clans like ours, we found having the top guys isn't the best. We have a lot of friends/family in our clan that are new to the game and just starting out and might have rushed their bases a little. With that said, we are trying to encourage them to build and raid in between wars. Bringing in top level players creates these intense lop-sided matchups in war. When you lose 2 in a row, morale gets low and people leave.
Having quality members that are mature, active and fun to be with is what we strive for. We've found a great core group of guys and gals that are just amazing. Some come, some go, but always be real and talk to them like they're your friend while trying to recruit them. Find out their desires.
Remember, when recruiting it isn't about you. No one cares about you. They care about them. They want what's best for them and if you don't remember to show what you have is best for them, they'll never join. If they want a farm clan and I come at them with "WE WAR ALL THE TIME!" they will definitely not join. So just know how to approach people and feel them out. Be real.
That's my two cents.
Find new players should be #2, retention should be #1. Keep a good core group of guys and eventually new members will find their way. My clan for the most part stays away from recruiting from global, only forum recruiting and only serious applicants.
We're a family of clans and we're doing pretty good.
Most of the members in my clan are either friendz or family and they end bringing people in as well. Currently have a farming clan and a serious war clan.. we make sure the good attackers are in the serious war clans.. we don't like to lose war!
A website always helps;)
Really, building a core of loyal members is the beginning.
Quality is more important then quantity.
Get clashers with the same mindset and you'll see a steady grow of loyal dedicated members.
i don't really know but maybe this will help you. I have a clan, a new clan. I'm th9 and the first step is to know one thing. You can look for th9-10 members but it will be hard, or you can look for th7-8-9 and let them grow up. Look for the most actives (looking their stealed resources) You can make a blog or a website with the rules and something more. Take it serious, if anyone doesn't fulfill the rules, kick him. And the most important thing... 2-3 hours of recruitment at chat would be nice, but spamming your clan on famous youtube channels would be better.
This is really true and important. Don't waste your time chatting in global to random people who likely don't really care about joining or staying in your clan. The clan that I co-founded has over 100 war wins and has fluctuated between 15 to 50 members. We kick people who are rude, don't listen, and mess around in wars (obviously after first meeting requirements to get in). This is obviously a bit more of a strict policy, which is the result of being an old clan.
When we were first growing we put a lot of effort in to training our members and giving them a lot of attention. We gave people multiple chances as long as they were dedicated and willing to a learn. A lot of our existing members were actually not great clashers when they first joined. They had poor war stats and weren't efficient at farming. Almost a year later, these same players now train and give advice to our new recruits and they have much much better stats. Giving your team attention will make them loyal. Don't let bad apples stick around either. The clan has to have a social environment, which takes a lot of work. As for the second task of finding new players, once you have a solid foundation, people will gradually find their way in to your clan, and if you have objective number 1 figured out, then you are golden. If you want to get better talent. Have a few people push for trophies and have the clan take war seriously. Kick slackers to get your war record better if you need to. Good luck!
As the owner of 4 clans that we started just 6 months ago I will try and help you out a bit. These don't always work, but they have helped us out a lot. First thing was we needed to come up with something catchy for a clan name. This makes it so that you have a branding that no one else has. There are tons of people that say that you should stay away from global, but I find that I can find some good eggs in with all that mess. But be warned when you go into global don't just spam your clan info go in there with the intent of just chatting with people. If the people in global see that you are a good fit with them they will ask if it will be okay to join. Get to know people rather than just spamming your information over and over. Twitter is also a great place to find people in clans. This also just be careful not to spam tweets. People will stop following you. Running you clan is not easy work. It takes a lot of time and patience to get the right players in. Don't try and go from 10 to 50 fast. Let it grow organically and it will happen. Get to know the different social media and find where you fit into it all! Best of luck! Oh and if you watch YT videos on this topic they are helpful too. There are a few out there!
Honestly,
We have been recruiting family and real life friends. Basically, we get them hooked and then coach them up. They are always a text away, which is nice. There's more loyalty there too. It helps if they have a large disposable income :D
This helps tons. KIK and GroupMe and other chat services only go so far. Having that personally connection to the guys is important. We have some Indonesian clan members who are all friends in real life. A simple KIK message or Clan Mail to have them check KIK goes a long way for them to contact their whole posse.
This is probably the best advice. So many people try to go from 0 to hero so quick. Let it be painful and grow slowly. You'll experience things organically and the way it is meant to be. Success doesn't happen overnight. It happens over the weeks of practice and trying things. When things get tough, stick it out. Stick with some people if you think they are worth it. Some people aren't worth it.
2 quick ways: make it anyone can join and/or get to masters+.
Check out Daddy's youtube/twitter. He actually posted a video on things to think about. It had some good points in there. It's really about reputation. There are tons of clans out there, most of them are not that good. You have to make people want to join. Make it where there's something that they can't get from other clans. Going into global and saying "join" isn't going to get you very good clan members.
i made my clan a few months ago and had 3 people come with me from old clan so started with 4 good people total. then started recruiting recruiting whoever right then but did i never go into global say "join my clan" i hate when people do this but i would just go into global and chat away and people would just ask if they could join as always have it set to invite only. got my clan to 15 in a day and i stopped there due to war reason of not knowing if they would attack in war or stay at all. once i kicked a few after war and people left did it again to 20 this time. did war saw who didnt attack kicked again. got back to 20 again and everyone attacked both times (heck yea victory) this took like a week and a half doing wars twice a week. so i decided i wanted to have a clan of about 30 people and thats about it and redid the whole process on on adding 5 at a time to get a good base of people in the clan and not to lose wars by to many new people not attacking after they join or leaving in the middle of war cause then you lose everyone. about 25 of the people have been there since close to the beginning and still the original 4 of us which are my co leaders now and thats all my co leaders. i dont just give out elder to just anyone you have to get 3 of 4 of my standards met before getting it. do well in war, follow all war rules, donate (no specific amount set), and stay active in chat. i think it works great and am sticking to it. but every war now everyone always attacks and there are still times that they may not and i will still kick them or the get demoted. hope this helps
My clan is almost a year old and we were at 15 to 10 members till about a month ago. I decided I'd go do a trophy push to get tht 1000 gems for getting to masters league and before you know it we jumped to 30 members just because of my league. Of course we trimmed the lesser inactive members but still ended up around 30. So it sounds pretty petty but tht was the best way to recruit for us. Good luck on your clans. If u want to join us we are "Reath Nation" 53 war wins rn request to join
Well I Started My Clan With My Friends ^_^
Recruit from the sub-sections of "Clan Talk" section. I also suggest doing a clean up in your clan and keep only the good ones; it may not be pleasing to the eyes of the prospective members.
I also suggest raising the recruitment standards. IMO, lvl 50+ is not good enough.
The first thing is to fill the clan. Don't be so demanding until you get to that point. Then you start trimming the dead weight.
Mentor the ones who follow directions, and replace those who don't.
The truth is that some lower to mid-level people can make the most loyal clan mates.
The best clans aren't born. They're made, by sticking together with people who get better over time.
Also, it helps to be in a good league. I pull people in from global all the time. The M1 badge makes it easy.
If you war, go for quality. Not quantity. Our clan averages around 25-35, then recent months grow to 35-45, and our war results starts to fail. Some mates not attacking properly, etc.
Bottomline, we have a core of 10-15 who will do active duty of war donation, attack seriously and try to get as much stars as possible. Recently a few of them left, and our core left with about 10.
Our clan shrinks back to 25-30, which I'm happy at that size. Easier to control and manage.
We don't really recruit. It takes the right person with the right attitude, expectation, etc. to fit into the clan. So, just let it go with the flow ...
I created a very successful clan, we are usually 45 people, some leaving, some newcomers, with a very strong base, and I don't do any active recruitment at all.
I also create a feeders clan recruiting a bit lower lvl, they are now 21 members, but it's getting a bit more difficult.
What I can tell about my experience with those 2 clans is that, imo, it's really the clan leader that matters. I'm a really geek, connected like 14h/day, donating 5000+ troops per season. This is what made my first clan so successful. People like to have a leader always available, donating a lot, very active on chat, helping them with their base design... This is also why my second clan is having it more difficult. I created it with my second account, but I'm not that active on this one, only play in the evening.
As far as quality is concerned, I think it's a matter of creating strong rules and having them respected. We have quite some rules, all explained on our website. if people don't respect (e.g. don't attack twice in war), we kick them out. Some clans are not strict enough about their own rule, and as a result, this pisses good members off, so they quit, and the clan is left with the bad ones. People know the rules, they accept them when entering the clan, so they have to respect them. This makes good members stay on the long term, and helps you build a strong clan !
And last advise: Don't break your rules yourself !!! I see too many clan leaders adding their second accounts to their clan even if they don't meet the clan's requirements, or accepting friends, girlfriends that don't meet the requirement... Don't do that, why would your members respect your rules if you don't yourself. Also don't promote friends to elder or co if they don't match the requirements other members would need to match for getting them, all members should have the feeling they have the same chances, even if you don't know them irl.
