Dark troops or Royals?

I am currently a TH9, midway thru upgrading defenses and whatnot. I am I crystal1 and working towards masters 3 where I will most likely remain for a while.

I am big on lavaloonian for my attacks, so I am upgrading my lavahounds to lvl 2 shortly. My balloons are max and my minions are lvl 4.

So my question is, should I work on upgrading the rest of my dark troops, which are pretty low lvl, or should i focus my dark elixir on upgrading my queen and king (lvl 1 and 6)?

Any advice would help!

Your King and Queen are also VERY low for a mid-TH9. I would concentrate there while doing all of the elixir upgrades to keep lab going. Only then should you think about doing dark troops upgrades. Strong heroes are a godsend in both raiding and war. Best of luck to you.

Thanks! Yeah they are low, I was too focused on walls and defenses in TH8, and neglected my dark troops and king. So I'm trying to turn the tide now and build them up slowly.

Low Level is an understatement. Get those royals up.

Your lavaloon attack is stacked and ready to go and should hold you over while heroes catch up. Non stop royals with DE get them babies upgraded maybe mix in lvl 5 minions if you find the DE.

Where do you guys have the most success farming DE? I never seem to be able to get as much as whatt everyone else says they get.

Granted I've never been beyond Masters 2, masters 3 and 2 is where I've seen the most.....the higher you go, the more there is.......


You're probably going to need lavaloonion to stay alive up there......I suggest taking minions to 5, then nothing but royals

Yeah that's what I'm between now. I'm definitely going to do my hounds to lvl 2, then I have to decide between royals and minions. So far though I haven't had any trouble in crystal 1 using 1 hound 28 loons and 20 minions with no spells. So I'm thinking royals should be priority after hound

If you can hang out in masters 3 it's pretty good and you get a good de bonus on top of that.

That's what I think I'm going to try and do. Its just a lot moree costly to train a lavaloonian army than a barch army just to maintain the masters status and its becoming more difficult to gain significant amount of elixir.

Crystal from 2000-2200
10 giants,10 minions,10 wall breakers
rest barbs and archers
No spells
Boosted barracks gets 10,000-15,000 in 2 hours
plus 200 DE bonus per win

I use 240 archers. CC giants and my BK(21) AQ(25) just 50% bases. Take whatever resources I can and loot bonus.

Got to look for right bases though and you could train lavaloon overnight or on shields.

I am farming my DE lower than most using fast hit armies. arch, barb, goblin and a couple wallbreakers. mostly in the Gold leagues. I am having no issues keeping the upgrades at an acceptable level. You will be fine there since you have lower amounts needed per upgrade.

Thank you morrie, that is helpful. Its just a daunting task seeing these guides that have people upgrade their AQ and BK simultaneously to lvl 30 in a matter of months. I am a successful attacker, just no where near that successful even with the same army comps
