Buying resources with gems
Lets discuss the possibility of buying resources with gems. As of right now, there are 3 possibilities of buying resources. Some of those are indirect ways of getting the resources.
1. Buying resources
This is the most straight forward method. Just buy the gems in store.
Gold: 3.555.587 gold for 1.281 gems -> 2.776 gold per gem
Elixer: 2.955.403 elixer for 1121 gems -> 2.636 elixer per gem
Dark Elixer: 12.097 dark elixer for 656 gems -> 18 dark elixer per gem
Pros: No waiting time
Cons: Low loot per gem, No fun
2. Boosting drills
This method doubles the production rate per drill. For this method I will be assuming the highest level of drills/collectors. The cost of boosting is 20 gems. The boost lasts 6 hours.
Gold: (3.000 x 6) gold for 20 gems -> 900 gold per gem
Elixer: (3.000 x 6) elixer for 20 gems -> 900 elixer per gem
Dark Elixer: (100 x 6) dark elixer for 20 gems -> 30 dark elixer per gem
Pros: Average gain for dark elixer (is this even a pro?), possible to gem small quantities
Cons: Longest waiting time, Terrible loot per gem, Fills up pumps fast making you delicious for raids, no fun
3. Gemming troops
For this method I will be assuming an average cost of 40k elixer for an entire army. Next to that an average of 1 spell used per raid. Also I will be assuming an average training time of 20 minutes. The cost of gemming 20 minutes worth of training time is 7 gems. This accumalates to a total of 28 gems per raid. On average, most people will accumalate the following resources per raid.
100.000 gold
100.000 elixer
500 dark elixer
Gold: (100.000 - 20.000) gold for (28 / 3) gems -> 8.602 gold per gem
Elixer: (100.000 - 40.000) elixer for (28 / 3) gems -> 6.429 elixer per gem
Dark Elixer: 500 dark elixer for (28/3) gems -> 54 dark elixer per gem
Pros: Highest gain per gem, most fun, Possible to gem small quantities
Cons: Takes some time
Conlcusion
Does anyone else here see the problem? Why in the world should we boost drills or pumps? The highest gain per gem is by far from gemming your troops. The easiest way by far is gemming the loot instantly, the gain per gem is even higher then pumps. Boosting gems is by far..... THE MOST STUPID THING EVER!!! All is has going for it, is the possibility to gem a very small quantity.
