Shield after attack, but no damage?

I have been trying to "revenge" a player, and yes, clicking revenge repeatedly. Within a 30 second period, he went from online, to "this village is already under attack" (I kept clicking revenge in case previous attacker got no stars/ 49%), and a few seconds later, there was no damage, and it said "village owner is online" again. Another few seconds, I pressed revenge, and he has shields.

So, did he buy a shield? He had to if there was no damage, or did it repair that quickly when he logged back in?

Maybe he was watching the attack?

Who knows. Maybe it just was not meant to be...

i had a weird thing once. Guy attacked me, i waited to revenge. Now every 2 or so seconds it would change. I could attack, id end the attack without actually attacking. Then it would say he was under attack when i tried again, wait, click and i could attack, over and over again.

cycle online, under attack, online, under attack... was weird. But he was NEVER actually attacked by me or anyone else. i checked on him for hours in this cycle.
