For low TH players who get zapped by higher TH players, that's kinda messed up, but all's fair in love and clash! Just kidding, I do kinda think that's a problem. Except that higher TH players could steamroll lower TH players most of the time anyway, so when you think about it, it's better to be zapped than steamrolled.
Think of it like this. If your defense log only showed you who attacked you, but it didn't show you what troops they used, and you couldn't watch a replay, then what would you rather see: 300k gold, 300k elixir, 2200 DE, or just 1400 DE?
Well, with just 1400 DE, maybe you can safely assume they zapped you. So make it 100k gold, 100k elixir, and 1400 DE. Which would you rather see?
You're overthinking this. You took a very small loss, when by all rights you should have taken a huge loss, and you're complaining about it.
