since i havent attacked like this yet, i dont know exacly the thoughts behind whats what so you, as someone who masterd it, will prob do a better job and it will give me a picture about how it should look

Th9 composition depend on opponent AD lvl. A higher AD lvl, shud bring more lava (4) for succesfull 3stars. Here some pic from our last war..

Just have a question about loon deployment. I've seen several successful 3 stars on th9s where the attacker dropped loons in sets as opposed to swiping the finger across the screen. Which way is better? Swiping them or strategically dropping sets ?

Hi,
thanks for the great guide. It sounds very convincing. I just started a new threat with a lava loonian question, but thought I might as well ask you as an expert directly.

Our clan leader is a mid level TH9 with maxed lava loonian offense (lev 10 heroes). He only uses a single lava dog in his attacks but is more heavy on the minions. He usually provides clean up work with both of his attacks towards the end of the war. He three stars any TH8 with that troop composition but his TH9 attacks are hit and miss in terms of getting 3 stars. I told him about your approach. He argues that the top players in the game typically only have a single lava dog in the mix. Scanning a few of the top player bases this is indeed true. Why would that be? And would you say that a skilled TH9 player following your guide should more often than not three star maxed TH9 bases?

1 lava is definitely not enough to 3 star a TH9 with 4 AD and 4 seeking air mines. The standard compositions are 3 lava + 1 golem, 4 lava or even 5 lava.

1 Lava gets you nowhere. It is probably at best a 2-star attack vs TH9, can't see it getting 3. Main thing is you cannot attack from 2 directions effectively with 1 lava, nor can you shield a broad enough front of loons from damage.

To follow up with what e0ne said...It all depends on the base and it's whatever YOU feel comfortable with.

You will need AT LEAST 3 Hounds, if you are facing a MAXED TH9 then you can do 4 Hounds. You want to bring a MINIMUM of 15 Minions and NO MORE than 25. Whatever you have left ever is ALL Loons. Keep playing with it and see what works BEST for you!

There is nothing wrong with doing it that way. I typically do a line since it's faster and the faster I get my Loons out the better.

To follow up with KOEWen...I am sorry but I have NEVER seen any top player use 1 Hound, especially in War. There is absolutely NO WAY he could ever 2 star a TH10 with 1 Hound and very unlikely to 3 or even 2 star a TH9, especially consistently. You've read all the successful post and a few pictures of where I myself 3 starred a TH10 so you be the judge on what works and what doesn't. KOEwen was spot on for why 1 Hound would fail miserably so not much i can add there.

Please let me know where I can find these attacks of top players using 1 Lava as I am genuinely interested in seeing that.

Well It was all thanks to this guide. dropping your cc full of loons first before the hounds proves to be useful. Also I always tend to rush my spell placement and your guide helped me to have more patience.

Sadly I only got 2 stars on my 2nd attack since the AQ and CC did not went right on a def (stayed on a gold storage) and did not died off from the loon bombings.

Still it was 2-stars on a TH10 with 2 infernos. I think with more practice I will be able to constantly 3-star even max TH9s and some TH10s. :D

2 stars on a TH10 is ALWAYS a victory and a 3 star is just a huge bonus!

Hi thanks for your response. Yes, I have seen everything here and I am very convinced. I will apply your techniques once I am there. I am a near maxed TH8, TH9 upgrade to be initiated tomorrow. So in less than a month I should be able to apply this. The best argument for our leader will be if I can three star bases he can't. By the way, we are no pushover clan and our leader is no idiot. We are approaching 100 war wins and he is approaching 700 war stars.

I was just looking for the best counter argument to debunk the 'Top Player Argument'. What I and our leader mean by one hound for the top players: I have not seen any videos of one hound working. Neither has he. But if you click on your trophy, click on top players and then visit the top 10 highest player (in the trophy leader board) camps. You will find that the majority of them has lavaloonian troops prepared and that the majority of them only has one hound (some times two now) in the camp. And I can't come up with a good counter argument why they only have one. Perhaps because these are trophy pushing and not war troops. But making spells will be the bottleneck anyway, so why not make more hounds to get more stars and more trophies? Their bases are maxed anyway.It is not like they need to safe DE or anything.

Well thanks again. Can't wait to apply this. Tired of hog and dragon attacks as TH8. Time for something new.
