Max TH9 vs Rushed TH10 (My experiment and experience)

As with most clash addicts I decided to start a second account and I mostly made it so it could donate troops to my main account. My first TH9 has max defense and I am still working on walls and heroes. My second account literally just hit TH9 very prematurely a few days ago.

Here is my experiment...

I plan on rushing my second account to TH10 after a few circumstances happen that I will list below. I will not upgrade my current TH9 till it is completely maxed with walls and heroes.

After reading all the commentary on the forums I think rushing vs. maxing is a personal preference but I wanted to try things out for myself. Feel free to comment about your own maxing or rushing journey here and I will do my best to also answer any questions you have.

As of 2/2/2015 these are where my two bases are at and the conditions under which I will upgrade them to TH10.

Main Account:
TH9 Level 111 Max Defense
GG=417mil
EE=413mil
HH=2.2mil
Heroes= Lvl 17 king and Lvl 14 queen
Walls = 193 Skulls, 57 Legos

I have spent most of my time doing Balloonian in Crystal and Masters League which accounts for high HH vs. Gold and Elixir. Or at least it seems that way.

Conditions for Upgrade = Both heroes at Lvl 30 and Lava Walls. I think the walls will end up being harder than the heroes but we shall see.

Mini Account:
TH9 Level 76
Most of my Defense is Max th7 with a few maxed at max th8 levels. (otherwise it is pretty pathetic)
GG=129 mil
EE=126 mil
HH=340k
Heroes=Level 10 Barb King and Lvl 2 Queen
Walls = 59 Level 6, 175 Level 7, Only 16 Skulls

I have had this account for maybe 8 months and my other account for about 18 months, but I am a casual player with occasional boosting if I need to trophy push or get enough gold or elixir for an upgrade. I never spend money on gems just get achievements and clear out obstacles.

Conditions for Upgrade = Lvl 6 Barch, Lvl 6 Loons with Lvl 5 Minions for Balloonian, Lvl 2 Lava Hounds which looks like it will take 63 days cause my minions are only at lvl 2. :/

I will do all the new defense upgrades but will leave them all at lvl1 including xbows.

I will spend most of my builder time on camps, SF, Lab, DE Drills, DE Storage for certain, queen upgrades, and probably LVL 12 mines and collectors if I can fit it in.

I will dump all excess gold into walls which should be a lot since I have so many elixir upgrades to do.

That is about all I can think of right now. If I think of more I will update this page or add it to My Experience page.

2/7/2015 Mini Account Update:

So far so good, walls really do matter. I have had a lot of TH snipes compared to TH8. The few people that have stolen any resources brought strong armies and double heroes over LVL 10. I got hit by 35 hogs and they still only got 85% even with my weak defenses. I am using a slightly modified cogwheel base design for TH9. Loot has been good for me in gold and crystal leagues just barching and Baming with lvl 5 archer and barb. Trying to decide on whether to do lvl 6 balloon first for war or just get the lvl 6 archer done. Lvl 3 Minions finish in 2 days so I have time to decide.

36 LVL 6 Walls
191 LVL 7 Walls
23 LVL 8 Walls

LVL 1 AD, LVL 1 WT, LVL 1 AT - Done!
Working on LVL 1 Xbow, will finish the other one after that.
Two Camps to LVL 7, Two more LVL 7 camps already building
Lvl 7 Lab - Done!
Lvl 4 SF - Currently Building
Queen going to 4, and will immediately put her to 5 after tomorrow.

1 lvl 6 WT, 2 LVL 5, 1 LVL 1
3 LVL 5 AD, 1 LVL 1
2 LVL 6 Mortars, 2 LVL 5 Mortars

3 LVL 2 teslas, 1 LVL 1 Tesla (Really need to get on these upgrades at some point)

just browsed through it, don't drop the thread, keep it running, GL with the haters, I also did something similar with a thread on my max TH8 vs my premmie TH9 except the results are out already, I won't say anymore though, let your own experiences decide your thoughts on rushing without me being any influence :)

Like your idea...but i believe there's something you are doing wrong on your rushed TH9 account... maybe you focus too much on defense upgrades, rushers focus on offenses upgrades. I am a casual farmer... my 4-5 months old account already has lv12 AQ & lv10 BK and it's doing nonstop cw since TH1.

A TH 10 even with crappy defenses but with a single baby (level 1) IT can be more than enough to deter if not fry giant healer armies, while we can't say the same thing of TH 9 as that's always a snack. :)

There are pros and cons on rushing, and I'm sure if you take the time to look for them on the forum you would most likely find them scattered around, but at the same time an experiment like yours sounds interesting.

I rushed my Jr. account to TH 8 and got to a point where started to play on it as well and started maxing out stuff. Now I'm left with walls and I'm done lol

Rushing to th10 isn't bad- I went with heroes in the low teens, half legos and max defenses. The loot at 10 isn't terrible like most say, so I think your mini won't have too much of a problem. Good luck and great thread idea!

loot is better at TH10 once you can farm in the masters without using heroes or spells. Same amount of gold/elixir and like 3x more DE. Don't even have to try and farm DE, I have both of my heroes in the low teens on my rushed account upgrading none stop and still max DE before they finish.

Whats your main farming comps? All Loonion, or also Barch/Bam?
