How to get a lot of resources quickly - a zero trophy guide

Hello everyone! This is a guide of playing in zero trophies. As I've experienced it's the ultimate best place to get resources (gold and elixir), and with correct playing you get them fast. If you have never tried it you should definitely try! :)

I'm going to speak about gold later in this post because it's the most important resource for me. This works with elixir also. For dark elixir... Well, you really shouldn't be looking DE from zero trophies. ;)

Some general warnings: You have to be really active for the whole playing session! Do not go offline. If you want to go to the toilet for example, just let your iDevice to be open and ensure that CoC is running. Otherwise you will get around 100-300 trophies from other trophy droppers. If you have a busy day do not do this. The loot will also be a lot worse for th9 players so I wouldn't recommend this to them. More advanced info about the optimal th levels.

1. Trophy dropping

First, you have to drop your trophies to zero. The most efficient way to do is to fill your barracks with barbarians. Once your army camps are full of barbarians, go to multiplayer and do this: deploy one barbarian and press the next button at the same time. You should hear your barbarian deploying sound at the same time you get to your next battle. Your trophies have dropped. In the next battle that comes up, rinse and repeat. It's going to take a bit of practice (sometimes you only hit the next button and sometimes you deploy only your barbarian) but it's really going to save a lot of time. This is important: DO NOT USE YOUR HERO(ES) TO DROP YOUR TROPHIES! If you manage to do the next button trick with a hero, your hero will glitch and it's going to sleep the whole regeneration time.

2. The raiding

When you are at zero trophies, you want to start raiding. This is how you do it.

Army: Your army is going to be very simple. 100 % goblins. If you wish, you can mix in some archers for donations. You're also going to fill your barracks with goblins after every raid so there are goblins training all the time.

The opponents: So, I guess this will be the most interesting part of this guide. Some of your opponents will be other trophy droppers like you, with their base in a good shape and stuff. Do not attack them. The goal is to attack very very weak bases. I'm going to add pictures of these weak bases, but what I mean is typically a town hall level 6 player with lvl1-3 walls and some low-level defenses. Usually the walls aren't really protecting anything and in rare cases there are splash tower(s). I know, these bases are really weird, but they are going to be the source of your gold.

All about the loot: The goal is to attack these earlier mentioned weak bases that have 30k+ gold in their storages. Sometimes the gold storages aren't in any defense's range, then you can accept lower amounts of loot and pick them with one goblin. My typical raid is a 30-70k gold with 1-50 goblins. If you get lucky you can find a 100k one, but they are really rare. The gold is going to be in the storages in 99% of the bases. The problem with the loot being in mines is that after destroying them it's possible to get 50% and then you win --> you won't be in 0 trophies anymore.

Other important things about low-trophy raiding:

1. Try to surrender before 40 % so the opponent doesn't get a shield. It's very important and useful for you because you can get the same opponent again if he's shieldless. Just today I found an opponent with 70k gold and I raided it. Next raid, same guy, now with 60k gold. Third raid, same guy again, now I got 50k gold. Then I didn't find him anymore (maybe because someone gave him a shield).

2. You should avoid 50 % even more because it will raise your trophies usually with 10-15. Not good.

3. Try to raid non-stop, or maybe keep max 2 minutes break between raids. If your barracks are always producing goblins you should have no problem in this.

How is this different from sub 200 farming? Sub 200 still pairs you up with people at 0 trophies so it's really no different.

Really you don't have a clue about farming to drop trophys launch de hero away from defence and they will not sleep and if you 100k a raid is good your at the wrong trophy level. I like to farm 1 to 2 million a hour.

Yeah, I always drop with my BK. Drop him in the corner and surrender.. saves troops. I do that repeatedly with no issues.

I went there a few weeks ago. Within 1 hour I made 4k DE. In return when I logged off and came back on I noticed I lost 10k by Lightning on DE storage by low low levels. Also at the time there was absolutely no loot down there. I'll never go there again.

Make sure you put a disclaimer that this will not work for the folks with a level 9 town hall. I made the mistake of sub 200 farming - couple months ago and would barely find anything over 20k. Darn loot penalty.

In terms of gold per hour of farming, is this effective compared to more traditional farming tactics? I can certainly see it being cost effective elixir-wise.

sub200 isn't the same anymore and zero trophies is hit or miss. Not to brag about my experience there few months back, but straight to the point:

since the last update - it is not worth farming below 200!

Here is a simple math for you folks. Based on the OP's pictures, he took roughly 84k with 43 goblins. To make 43 goblins with 4 barracks, it would take about five an a half minutes. As a th7-8 you could raid with full army that you would need to build in 17-20 minutes, but outcome would bring you 250-400k roughly. All in all, end of the day haul will be very close for either range, however the advantage of farming at 1100-1500 trophy range is that you could actually log off and have life!

While down below 200, you have to constantly stay online and dump gold into walls/upgrades immediately. That would require keeping one builder unoccupied, which ultimately delays defense upgrades.

At last, going down to zero trophies will require daily 15-20 minute drop down - add that to overall time and you will gain even less resources than at a higher range.

I don't have the time to do a more intelligent and detail break down, but just wanted to say in few words that sub200 is absolutely not worth it anymore. Also, if you are th9, do not even bother! Th7 may get some resources but th8 is the best th for sub200 (zero) farming.

RB - the guy who got all skull walls in less than a month while farming down below 200.

I went there as a TH8 like 3 weeks ago and the resources especially gold are amazing. TH8 is the best TH for sub 200 because Level 5 goblins are a dramatic improvement from level 4. Only problem is some noobs bring Lightning and zap your DE sometimes which can be annoying.

I was there in February, way before latest update by SC. Last update was a game changer (loot penalty and deleted inactive accounts). Zero was THE BEST for DE farming back than.

I have to back up OP on this one. I wasn't sure what triggered it, but when I used my BK to drop trophies, I experienced it going to sleep for the full duration on one occasion. If OP is right, if you surrender and go back to your base each time you may never experience it. Apparently if you immediately hit 'Next' you will trigger the glitch.

Im sub200 right now and I usually drop to about 150 and then start farming, I still drop because i leave before 40% but just slowly, you comb more loot out of the ranges that way. I started counting how much gold i get before i run out of goblins. I usually get about 500-800 k per 10-15 minutes when my army camps fill up. Then I wait for them to refil and start again.

Nice guide. I have always wondered how people drop trophies efficiently after the fix. I personally did not like sub200 when I was there as a TH8. A lot of my clannies seem to like it though. Nice base btw. ;)

you can still do it with a minor tweak. Before you had to hold "next" button and now you have to tap next and drop troop at the same time. Try it few times and you will figure it out.

sub 200 isn't everybody's cup of joes.
Went there once and hated it. Even as TH5 the loot there is horrendous. Didn't even find any base above 100k resources. Its all 20k and below, which left me wondering...is CoC differs based on region? Do they actually have more than one server to accommodate regional players?

anyway, the drop troop click next trick still works, but more difficult than before. What I do is using two fingers. Using my index finger, I will press and HOLD the next button, then using my middle finger to drop a barbarian, then quickly lift both my fingers at the same time. With enough practice, you'll get used to the correct timing.

Not so quickly as I thought... I always pair with ppl who has 200-12000 gold, not much. I had raiding 2 hours and steel only 90000 elixir and gold.

Many of you are talking about sub200. This is a wrong term. It is CRITICAL to go to zero trophies. When I dropped down I started seeing good loots in around 15 trophies. Zero is even better. I don't know why, it just is. :)

I had barracks producing goblins. I raided immediately again after that raid. For the normal raiding part: if you are talking about gold only, I don't get 250k-400k per regular raid. If you're talking about both gold and elixir - well, I always concentrate on gold only so it doesn't really matter. I can raid the average of 50k gold every two minutes in zero trophies and that gives me 50k x 30 = 1,5 million gold per hour. Hope that explained a bit. :)

For a TH9 that's a really bad idea to drop trophees under 200.

I tried it some weeks ago and I found nothing with more than 40k gold.
Now I'm in a good trophee range (1300-1500) and I earn between 800 & 1000k both in 1hour. ;)

I went to 0 today and I did not see many targets. Every 20 or so villages had maybe 20-40 gold or resources. A very small amount had 100 or so.
Pretty much all I saw were newbie villages. Maybe because I am th6?
Things seem to be better in the above 0 area, like around 60 plus cups.

I was almost at 1200 cups
It seems really easy to get back to 1000.
When you log off you get a ton of cups from people dropping one gob to delevel.
I was back to 750 in a very short time.

Sub 200 works great i always find best raids 170-120 cups ive done all walls pink half purple in less then a week as well as upgrading pekka barrack an got valkeries too . archers lev5 and gobbs on way . Like taking candy from a baby .

I wen there a in april and the loot as a townhall 9 is still great the problem is each time you log off you jump 100 trophies I would start at 195 - attack - log off - boom 300+ trophies. Then you have to drop again etc etc that why I left. Getting back up from 300 to 1200 is a b i t c h

Lol? Its called sub-200 farming. You get can 50K resource per raid and with 10 goblins. With 1-2 raids a minute. its extreme farming;) i also do the regular kind of farming, because sub-200 requires lots of time and effort.Also, the reason heroes die is because if u manage to hit next, the game runs a simulation. You can imagine what happens if you find a base and put 1 hero in a random location with no other help ;)

Okay, now I don't know about you guys, but I am having great experiences with the 950-1100 trophy range. I get TH7 and TH6 people who have maybe 200k resources average. I also got approximately 350k resources using just 15 goblins (I will upload the pic soon) . I tried sub 200 farming and it just didn't work out for me.

P.S. I am a TH6 :)

I'm pretty sure that the best town hall level to be at sub 200 is th8 because there is a hidden tweak in the matchmaking system that removes every player who is atleast 3 town hall levels lower than the attacker.
This causes that the most villages found by th 8 players are premature th 6 players without a real defense but still a bit loot available to be stolen. So what makes th 8 best place there isn't the loot bonus/penalty stuff because everyone there mostly faces villages 2 town hall levels lower than the attacker. I actually think that th 8 is the best place because they face there town hall 6 players who have fairly big storages and mines and as hardcore premature players their defense cannot be called as a defense. Th 7 player would face th 5 players who usually doesn't hold that much stuff in their storages and th 9 players would face other sub-200 th 7 farmers and if there are not any of these it may even show them other th 8 or 9 farmers.

This is what atleast I have been experiencing when farming sub 200 and I hope that this helps others who are confused about this.

That's some interesting stuff Shady, definitely worth reading. I didn't really know about that two th's lower thing because I've only been to sub200 while th8. I will put a link of this post to original post. :)

Th6 isn't for sub 200 farming. Only ever go if you are a th7 or th8, otherwise it's a waste of time. Plus you should be at 1150 trophies. And sure you can get 350k with 15 goblins (assuming your not lying) but we all had our best raids, I got much better raids than that although nevertheless some were with much more troops (2 drags, giant/barb/archer/goblin for 400k/300k/780) and some were the same amount of troops like collector raids and 350k raids aren't hard to find, but I only care about gold and if I find de ill take that too. It's not hard to find 200k gold at 1150 as th7, but its also takes as much time for me to find 100k gold which I can take and use a ratio of 1:2000+ for goblins to gold. And remember I can raid non stop at sub 200, as long as you don't waste lots of troops or you can boost a single barracks if its a good loot day which requires tons of goblins.

I like the 1600 trophy range becuase you don't have to stay online constantly. I am TH7 and can make 2 million gold in less battles but it takes longer to train 100 barbarians and archers.

I have two reasons for this:

1) You haven't reached the sub 200 zone yet. When the trophy count is like 210 or something you will find those
th 2 players with no loot actually. You have to be in the zone in order to find those town hall 5 players (if you are th 7).
2) You have entered the zone without returning home after reaching the zone by using the "next button" glitch.

If any of those 2 reasons are not true in your case, then I have no idea how it is possible...

I have two reasons for this:

1) You haven't reached the sub 200 zone yet. When the trophy count is like 210 or something you will find those
th 2 players with no loot actually. You have to be in the zone in order to find those town hall 5 players (if you are th 7).
2) You have entered the zone without returning home after reaching the zone by using the "next button" glitch.

If any of those 2 reasons are not true in your case, then I have no idea how it is possible...

I don't think that the difference between sub200 and a bit over 200 is so big. From your post I get the idea that in 201 trophies you get no loot at all, but when you're in 199 everything is fine.

I think that the closer to zero you are the better. To Rager, I guess you were too high in trophies. If you were like in 150, it's not good and you get still some of the th4-3 people in your matchmaking. Under 100 is good, under 50 is very good and 0 is perfect. :cool:

I agree to shady. I am a town hall 7 and I have tried sub 200 farming. The worst place for a high town hall like us would be just over the 200 mark, where there is NOTHING but town hall 1s and 2s and the loot is around 20 (Not K ;)) When I have gotten under that point is has been a whole different story. When I get over that point the most usual opponents are town hall 4 and 5 which would fit the case of finding only three levels lower than TH7 and above (TH4 and above). It might not be written in black and white but that doesn't mean it's not there.

Yeah, a lot of my clan mates are farming in the underworld, but I've been hesitating going down there because I regularly get 150k lots at 1000 trophies.

Well basically the idea that you get is right. There is huge difference between 201 and 199 trophies even though 0-80 trophies is even better. The differnce is because when you find those th 3 players at 201 trophies, it's impossible to get any loot because the amount they hold in their storages is very small plus the loot penalty which gives you 5% of the loot which would be small anyway which leads that evry match has like ten gold pieces available.

I advice let your clanmates farm at the deep, dark and scary underworld:eek:. It's a place for TH7 and up. If your happy with the loot at your trophy count, stay there:D.

just got back from 0 trophies. Its definitely a grind down there and you dont find bases with crazy loot. but in a few hours, i did get about 3 million gold. So i guess it was kind of worth it.

Still climbing back now. I feel a little bad for people who only attacked my th in the past couple weeks. A good number of them just lost 59 trophies :p

Eh. Maybe when my clan is farming. I don't have all the time in the world though. I think I'll stick to 1200 farming because its easier then earning 2000 trophies back. (I'm crystal.)

Hm, I haven't been there for a while so I can't really say how good/bad sub200 is nowadays. But when I was there about two months ago, it was a heaven. :)

You should try it out some day, if not for the loot then just for the experience.

Actually, this would probably not be the case. Since he is attacking a good amount of TH6s, he is getting 50% of the actual loot. Since you are a TH9,you would get 10%.

Some general warnings: You have to be really active for the whole playing session! Do not go offline. If you want to go to the toilet for example, just let your iDevice to be open and ensure that CoC is running. Otherwise you will get around 100-300 trophies from other trophy droppers. If you have a busy day do not do this. The loot will also be a lot worse for th9 players so I wouldn't recommend this to them. More advanced info about the optimal th levels.

1. Trophy dropping

First, you have to drop your trophies to zero. The most efficient way to do is to fill your barracks with barbarians. Once your army camps are full of barbarians, go to multiplayer and do this: deploy one barbarian and press the next button at the same time. You should hear your barbarian deploying sound at the same time you get to your next battle. Your trophies have dropped. In the next battle that comes up, rinse and repeat. It's going to take a bit of practice (sometimes you only hit the next button and sometimes you deploy only your barbarian) but it's really going to save a lot of time. This is important: DO NOT USE YOUR HERO(ES) TO DROP YOUR TROPHIES! If you manage to do the next button trick with a hero, your hero will glitch and it's going to sleep the whole regeneration time.

2. The raiding

When you are at zero trophies, you want to start raiding. This is how you do it.

Army: Your army is going to be very simple. 100 % goblins. If you wish, you can mix in some archers for donations. You're also going to fill your barracks with goblins after every raid so there are goblins training all the time.

The opponents: So, I guess this will be the most interesting part of this guide. Some of your opponents will be other trophy droppers like you, with their base in a good shape and stuff. Do not attack them. The goal is to attack very very weak bases. I'm going to add pictures of these weak bases, but what I mean is typically a town hall level 6 player with lvl1-3 walls and some low-level defenses. Usually the walls aren't really protecting anything and in rare cases there are splash tower(s). I know, these bases are really weird, but they are going to be the source of your gold.

All about the loot: The goal is to attack these earlier mentioned weak bases that have 30k+ gold in their storages. Sometimes the gold storages aren't in any defense's range, then you can accept lower amounts of loot and pick them with one goblin. My typical raid is a 30-70k gold with 1-50 goblins. If you get lucky you can find a 100k one, but they are really rare. The gold is going to be in the storages in 99% of the bases. The problem with the loot being in mines is that after destroying them it's possible to get 50% and then you win --> you won't be in 0 trophies anymore.

Other important things about low-trophy raiding:

1. Try to surrender before 40 % so the opponent doesn't get a shield. It's very important and useful for you because you can get the same opponent again if he's shieldless. Just today I found an opponent with 70k gold and I raided it. Next raid, same guy, now with 60k gold. Third raid, same guy again, now I got 50k gold. Then I didn't find him anymore (maybe because someone gave him a shield).

2. You should avoid 50 % even more because it will raise your trophies usually with 10-15. Not good.

3. Try to raid non-stop, or maybe keep max 2 minutes break between raids. If your barracks are always producing goblins you should have no problem in this.

I think they just want you to read the old thread, not actually post in it, and so save people's time. Although, to be honest, if you took out everything that was either:

c:revived topics
and d:repeated topics, there would be very little of General actually left! There is only so much you can talk about a computer game, 24/7, for over a year now.;)

At th 7 you should be going for around 1.5 mil an hour not even mentioning the fact that you get attacked nonstop and have to drop again before farming.

from personal experience attempting sub 200 farming with less that 2-3 hours of uninterrupted playtime will probably set you back more than help,if you have time and are willing to lower your expectations(upto where 70k gold is a great find)then its the range for you,most of the time you'll just drop 5 goblins or so to steal an uprotected 10k gold,and repeat this very often you can make some money because you're not wasting time searching its raid after raid after raid,but if you get disconnected for as little as 1minute you might come back to +50 trophies which after a certain point get dropped one at a time,if you can put up with that it's the range for you.....
