lately, the leader is kicking out some members from the clan that don't want a war, but they want to stay and watch , and some are the loyal ones that can't be kicked out for good but they want to take a break so the leader kick them out and after declaring a war her send them invites to get back to the clan. The point is, there should be a new option for the leader which is that he can select the players that wants to enter the war without kicking out the players that doesn't want one.
I see where you are coming from. As a leader of a quite successful clan I run into these same problems. Well, I wouldn't even call it a problem. I would call it an inconvenience. I have heard of this idea before but have not read up on it so I am not sure whether this would ever happen or not.
Anyhow, good post. I hope this idea somehow becomes a popular vote.

War opting would be a very simple and efficient option for players who don't want in on war. Players could simply press a button on their profile, or something, that asks them if they would prefer in our out of war. As a leader, im slightly tired of kicking out 20 of my members so I can get a war that's 15-15. This would be a fantastic feature.
I believe that while a Opt-out button is necessary, Leaders should never have this power. Leave it to the member in question to choose whether or not they want to war. If a leader had that power, it would lead to loads of Abuse reports etc etc.

Wow, I've seen this requested a lot in the last few months, and I didn't realize there was an official response. Glad to see it's not a technical issue, just a game design issue. I see where they're coming from.Quote:

Reasons
The main reason is, as stated above, because people don't want to kick people and invite them just so they can opt outon war. While that is a solution, it has some consequences, including misunderstandings, drama (omg, you kicked me out so that I wouldn't be in war) and loss of donation statistics.
Some might argue that if one does not wish to participate in war, one must simply join a clan that does not participate in war. The reason this is not true for many people is that those who care about being able to opt out are more likely to be loyal members, or at least friends with many. Leaving as a group is not a solution either since the group of friends would still be split between warring and not warring. Splitting the group results in the splitting of friends, which lowers the amount of motivations to keep playing CoC. If sister/feeder clans been implemented, that would be a long workwaround that could still be flawed.
There is another reason that this is suggested, which is that players will still "have a life" outside of CoC. This includes vacations, examinations, business trips, blackouts (+and other force majuere disasters) in the residence of one player which doesn't affect the others physically etc.. Thus, some players would only opt out some times and return to war actively.

We've talked A LOT about adding an opt-out feature in Clan Wars and it's not currently in the cards. At this point, we just haven't found the right solution that fits Clash how it should.
We always try to avoid unnecessary complexity in our feature design and strive for features that work consistently and simply for all players. Some players would be thrilled with an opt-out system, but others would prefer things like opt-in, leader-chooses, variable team sizes, or other solutions. When we look into the next batch of Clan Wars features, that will be the time to reconsider things like opt-out systems, and possibly come up with better solutions that encourage everyone in their Clan to stick together and participate no matter what. From my experience in CoC (not just me, but also my clanmates), I'm going to added to the list [of stuff that people have given to say why the don't want it but need it] at the end of the post.
"They spoke of fractured clans, lost members", lost friends, stress that may have led to GPA loss (hence less chance for college and all that nonsense), lots of drama, rebellions within clans, inter-clan drama/rivalry and family problems of all sorts including, but not limited to, parent/child and siblings.

War Opt in/out is the second most wanted feature after Quests from the list of features on the poll (which covers most populate requests IMO).
188 people have voted for War Opt In/Out at the last time I checked (January 31st).

I think it should be the Leader's power because if he opts everyone out that's his loss and if someone gets opted out all the time then he can just.... I'm not sure about it being the co's power because that could lead to abuse.Quote:

Think about what happens in sport, in football or soccer the leader has the power to decide the players of every match, being a member of a team does not mean that you will always play, this concept could be introduced also in CoC, maybe if a soccer player get sick is fired and called back after ?! :P
You will get your wish, here is SC's official response making a clear statement what they are planning. (and ever since they did this you have seen things from this list in every release including the most current so items on the list not out yet will be in future releases.)

The status of a player is only a factor right at the time a war starts. Instead of just selecting all eligible players from the total population it will just be all eligible players from the opted in group.

After that everything works the same. The list of warriors from the clan is rounded to an even 5 via the existing logic and then the matchmaking calculation takes place also using the existing logic.
A player joins a clan with his eligibility set the same way it is today. (He is in unless there is a timer)
Things that would not happen -
...A player cannot add themselves to a war after the fact. If they change their status during a war it makes no difference until the next war when that status is read at startup.
...This would not serve as a way to replace members that take off during war. if they do that then there is the same affect on the war as there is today. Unused attacks stay unused. (it will never change that this just stinks when guys pull that stunt)
