If I send the boat away because I can not fill the boxes, will I loose this chance to get the reward? I have filled 5 boats in a row, going for 12 :) But I see that to make the 2 last blackberryjams is not possible due to timeframe. I have not started to load anything yet.
I'm pretty sure if you send it away empty you'll start again from 0. I don't think it matters if it gets sent away empty or partially full (though someone correct me if I'm wrong). You have to have 12 full boats in a row. If you want to try for 12 in a row and don't want to lose your progress, I'd suggest just trying to fill it and flagging the jam from the very beginning for help from others. Strangers can help fill boats too, so I usually try to advertise in the paper regularly to bring people to my farm in the hopes that they see my boat and can help me out. Good luck!
I think it sucks that they require items you can't possibly make in the time frame given for the boats. Some of them are impossible, and the storage can't possibly be big enough to stockpile all the items that take a long time to make. i got the 6 boats in a row achievement, then got another time got it to 7 but could not finish the 8th and lost the 12 in a row achievement.
It's poor gaming convention to require anything in a game that is impossible to do without having to buy something or rely on another gamer. This will bite them in the butt in the long run.

Try to get some deal from here and add the players on GC.
Mostly it will help you to completed the order for the shipment.
continuous shipment for 12 in a row will get you the reward..

If you want to get captain III I think it is best to try for it as early as possible and stop truck orders for a while. Then you don't level up as fast and have fewer items that the boat wants. The boat won't ask for jam if you are not at the jam maker's level yet. It can be quite a hassle when the second or third boat in a row needs blackberry jam which takes 8 hours.
I was a bit lucky I got my Captain III achievement the first 12 boats I did, with some help from my GC friends. I didn't even reach the ice cream level yet when I did the 12th boat.
I do think it shouldn't be too easy to do boats. It should need some planning, if you can do them everytime all the time it would soon get boring.
I definitely agree that part of the fun is in the challenge. I did it without GC friends but it wasn't easy. The nice thing was I was in the 30s somewhere in terms of my level so I had some gold stashed away that I used to stockpile things that took longer to make in case I couldn't meet the quota, but it was pretty expensive doing it that way. One strategy I used was that when I finished a boat, I didn't send it away right away. I used some of the time I had left to build up my stockpile of things so I'd start the next boat with hopefully a couple of boxes' worth of stuff ready to go. It was frustrating at times, but it was a fun challenge!
I have used those strategies too. I bought all the juice whenever I could find it as soon as I reached the level to buy the juicer because I couldn't buy it yet. I didn't send the boat right away too and often I still don't. I use the remaining time I have left to recover and restock first. Because if you do send the boat a new one will arrive in 4 hours. That buys some extra time. And that is what you need going for the captain achievement. Time to make more stuff and time to search more newspapers and finding the odd thing like carrot juice which you usually don't find very often.Quote:
