Barbs for new guys, drags for the mid range and up. I had posted right after wiz event wondering if maybe a valk event could happen lol. Anyway i did get a reply that more troop events were something SC were interested in. Only second troop event, so id say theyre doing amazing. This is just a glimpse at the fun to come haha. I'll be soo pumped for valk event lol.
I actually benefit from this.... *throws out mass dragons on a base*
It would be a bad thing if you were upgrading all of your air defenses at once....ugh!

Why dragons? I have never gotten 3 starred 3 times in a day by mass dragon attacks before. Dragon Raids suck because they are so strong. Strong > Weak. Weak people lose. Lose trophies = lose loot. Lose loot = Crying. Therefore, dragon events make weak people cry.
It's better than nothing.

The barbarians are for the lower level players who don't have dragons yet. Possibly, this could be a "sneak peak" in itself.
Some people complain about everything lol. If it was barbs and archers, people would say "why not goblins?" or "why not pekka?" Stop crying, its a gift from supercell, just like the wizard event.

Dragons are useless at th9 & 10. They are overrated, cost too much & take up to much space.
Barbs train faster then arch, so my batch is being very inconvenient.

Employee 2: "Give 1 gem boost to all buildings."
Employee 1: "Nah. We did that last time."
Employee 3: "Let's give discount on gem purchases"
Employee 1: "The boss will easily see through that, we need something that will reduce profit margins and yet seem natural"
Employee 4: "Let's increase the training speed of two troops - one spammable, the other tanky/DPS. Let's spread the news that this is an event for the customers. The spammable ones are used in all army compositions while the tanky / DPS unit will be used by players in war. It's win-win"
Employee 1: "OK, how will it reduce SC's profit margins?"
Employee 4: "The players will only have to boost 2 - 3 barracks when making spammable troops. See?" (NOTE THIS)
Employee 1: "Excellent. I will get working on this right away. Which troops do you suggest?"
Employee 4: "Archers and P.E.K.K.A's. These two feature in most farming and war army compositions"
Employee 1: "Actually, my horoscope today states that the letters B and D are lucky for me. SO it's Barbs and Dragons"

So why are you guys complaining? Boost 2 barracks. Train Barbarians in the non-boosted ones and Archers in the rest. It's win-win. Or just spam dragons with all the overflowing Elixir us TH8's have. Use mass dragons in war and donate dragons to low level clan mates.

barbarians are nice for barching, but anyway, while barching, I still have to next for so long that my troops are trained already when coming back, so having my barbarians ready 5x quicker doesn't change anything.
What would really be nice is a 5x event on spells and loons ;-)

To be fair to the OP, the reduction of waiting time for Barbs is utterly pointless.
For those who use barchers, now we have more barbarians than archers, which is annoying and we have to waste more time to figure out how many barbarians exactly we need to train.
Dragons aren't cheaper. I don't see the point of using them.

My thoughts on this maybe Supercell is experimenting with speeding up the speed of the barracks boosted. They chose Barbs because they have one of the shortest training times, and Dragons because they have one of the longest (I know there are longer times, but for testing purposes not many TH 8's use Golems or have access to anything else with longer training times). This is a trial run for a limited time to see what it would do. It would be nice to see boosted barracks go from 4x to 5x permanently. Just a thought..........
Yup without another boost Barch is built in 4min break between ACTUAL fights. Thats one barracks barbs three archers. If you have half a brain youll figure out you dont need every troop every fight and youll have a regular barch army in a few fights. If you boosted one more barracks you'd have instant barch. If you decided to say screw it and run all barbs you can figure out you cant attack fast enough and you can raid still make a good profit. Who actually cares about trophies?Quote:

As a player that has decided to never use boosts (there is just a greater degree of satisfaction in knowing I got to where I am the hard way) this is literally the only event they have ever had that directly helped me. That is an event I am truly dreading. I have never kept a builder free for walls before (it just pains me too much to see a builder being idle most of the day and so I just try to time my upgrades so I get one builder free each day and just buy some walls before starting the next upgrade), but if they give a 5x boost to just balloons and one other rarely used troop, I will expect to see tons of balloon raids and may finally keep a builder free for walls for the first time ever just so I can always log out with little to no loot.Quote:

Man do I hope so. There is literally no change they could make to the game that would make me more pleased than a permanent reduction in the build time of either barbarians, archers, or both. Not me for me, BUT for someone I came across last night. TH8 with ALL 3 ADs down for upgrading. I hit him with 28 loons and 3 drags (using drags instead of minis since I am farming for D.E. and Drags are quick now). Not sure why you would EVER have all of ANYTHING down at the same time. And with this update he is gonna just keep paying and paying. My guess, he'll ride the shields. I would but I would never have all of something upgrading at once either.
