Should I max out Collectors first?

I'm nearly getting my barracks and my walls maxed (I'm on TH6)

Should I max out my collectors too before going to TH7?
My collectors are all at Level 9.

It's not really necessary at your th level to max 100% long as your troops defenses walls are set go for it. But once th7-8 rolls around spend time to max it all including hero's for those levels. That will put you ahead of most who are rushing upgrades and can't defend them selfs.

I wouldve told you to pretty much skip th6 and go straight to th7 after you max our your barxh at least.. too late now..

Maxing mines, collectors and walls are not necessary below TH7.
But mines are more important than collectors because you need more gold for walls.

before upgrade to any new TH you must have max offense: Camp, barracks, Lab (necessary farming and war researches), spell factory, storages, clan castle

You can max defense in lower THs but walls are optional. walls show how you are good at farming gold.

I am TH8 with level 5 collectors.
Make raiders work for your goodies!
