[Competition] Forum Trophy Race

Recently, Moe, Baconman, and myself (Djemerson13) decided we would go for a trophy hunt. I go on a trophy hunt every 1-2 months to see how far I can push myself, and for a change of pace from the usual farming. I tossed together a trailer for this occasion, just to hype it up a little. The three of us figured we could make it into a competition to see who could climb the highest, and figured it'd be fun for you all to spectate, or participate in.

I'm aware the update is probably due this week, and personally am fine with that. Post update loot is normally horrible for 1-2 weeks, which is how long we'll be chasing trophies. Secondly, it will give us a chance to check out all the TH10's all the new update goodies at the higher trophy levels, where many will be gemming all the new features.

The Race starts on May 20th, at 8;00 P.M. EST, and will end the 31st of may, at 8:00 P.M. EST. We will keep you up to date on our progress, I may post some high level attacking vids, and defenses.

Place your bets on the winner, and good luck to anyone who decides to join in

Nothing we've worked out yet. Hopefully you guys' understanding that I'm at a disadvantage is all that we'll need.

Who cares if their townhall 9, show em old guys up baconman, but seriously not only do they xbow and extra wiz tower and archer tower they both have lvl 6 troops too? I know dan does, so maybe implement a so many trophy handicap? To be decided by you. If you even do a handicap its up to you guys seeing as im not part of it, just wanted to make it a little more fair.

So, one of those players has a definite disadvantage (hint: its the one thirty levels lower than the other two).

I'd love to join in, but I just got a new nine-to-five job at a place... without wireless Internet (gasp!), so I'm afraid I wouldn't be much competition...:(

People farm up at 2000 and all inbetween. If you just attack easy bases and farmers with THs outside, you should be able to get that in a couple days, assuming your only going for 1 or 2 stars.

Well due to the coincidence I'll join in. Will's clan is on a trophy push from May 19th but I was still sub200 farming on the first day. It ends on the 26th though, and I'm going on a trip to SG on the 28th till first week of June, so I probably have more disadvantage than the other th8 guy though I'm 20+ levels ahead of him.

Why would you expect the push to be riveting on the second day? We are all saving up resources for the push, it is a strategy. You rise slowly to conserve resources. If you run out of them, you are basically done, we still have 10 days left, that is more than enough time to skyrocket in trophies.

2k can easily be achieved with Barbs and archers/no spells.

Nope no rules. If anyone wants to use gems to win a little competition be our guest. Bacon, Moe and I aren't though ;)

Just make sure to conserve your resources and you'll last for a while :)

true story - i started a trophy push at 1400 @ TH8 with 3.7 mil elixir and tier 1 troops. the push was for 2 weeks. i got up to 2281 before getting somewhat low for what i needed to do. I was using giant/infantry mix and had 400k but i reached the point to where i needed to switch to tier 3 troops. i got impatient as i was searching 15-20 min for bases to try to find one that i could take with the current setup and had no luck. So i eventually ran out of gold as well as i used all gold to search for bases. i raided a little bit but i was putting it into my lvl 8 walls. so i kinda screwed myself.

Hmmm, what point did you start using tier three troops?

Im not sure how I will fare this time, but my farming army hit a wall at 2600 last time I went on a cup hunt.

It'll be interesting to see if the bases have improved and that wall is at a lower cup count, or if that wall has been set higher up due to trophy inflation.

I use barbs, archers, giants, and wallbreakers for as far as they take me. 2500 and higher is the usual. I have an abnormal amount of resources saved up (8 Million Gold, 8 Million Elixir) so I may start playing with pekkas on the last few days.

I guess will will be first to reach Crystal, it's because he already has the resources needed and his clan is in a tight match against top members of all of Phil Dream Team's brother clans formed to make the Phil Elite Team. Both clans are with over 20k trophies right now, and Phil Dream Team ranks 309. Clan competition ends Sunday. I don't think will's level 5 troops can beat Dan's but he has some elix to burn and may try playing with other combos, for now it's barb-arch-giants-wb. Will will be sleeping now and queue in some tier 3 troops to revenge when he wakes up as I expect him to lose on defense due to four ATs being down atm.

That was before the addition of 4th wiz tower and tesla lv7 i assume ??? Im sure its going to be much tougher for tier1 troops dan... Oh yeah and the extra 25 walls also

Before the 4th wiz and tesla 7...during the release of the 25 walls. I didnt have lvl6 barbs at that point though, and there is trophy inflation of course.

Not at all, 2k isn't much of a milestone.

But yes I'm backing out, going to just keep farming, maybe another day there will be a trophy race

There is a very important point here that Supercell should look at....

Moe would rather farm Walls than go for Trophies.... And he is by no means alone... That is some Crazy ****

Bacon backed out too because he ran out of resources.

I'm having a lot more trouble than previous races. See, I used to farm with a Barb, Arch, Giant, WB combo, and I would use this same combo when trophy hunting. However I started to use a Barb, Arch, Gob, Giant, WB combo. Both have completely different attack strategies, and I've gotten very used to the latter strategy, and have lost all my skill with the first combo. Thus, my attacks aren't anywhere near as skilled for trophy hunting, but are more skilled for farming nowadays, when it was the other way around a few months ago.

I'm just a hair below 2300 currently, and still have 6,500,000 Gold, 6,400,000 Elixir, and 48,000 Dark Elixir. I'm trying out a GoWiPe attack right now, but was using a Barb, Arch, Giant, WB, Wiz attack, which was able to get me a 2 star most of the time. Not sure which attack I prefer yet, i'll have to get a few more GoWiPe raids in.

Dan an army i used to get to 2500 was 1 golem 20 giants 20 wizards and 5 wbs. Was really good and maybe you should try it out. It guarenteed me usually 2 stars and alot of times 3 stars.
But yeah. GL on the push and beat 3000 :p

I can hit 2500 easy with Pekkas and Wizards, its just dis-heartening that I can't use Barb, Arch, Giant, WB to hit 2600 anymore :(

I don't know haha, I've made about 2.5 Million today :D Elix is holding up, I've been using lots of wizards today, and a few pekkas but have only lost about 600k elix. Sitting at 6,631,772 Gold and 6,528,485 Elix. 4 elixir pumps are upgrading to lvl11 currently, once those finish it'll help out a lot

I'm not sure, I'm not a barb archer attacker, however I was hit for exactly 50% two times today at about 2150-2200 by bar arch attackers, that prompted a base redesign ;)

Of course, you'd just have to shift some things around and maybe sacrifice the better positioning of 2 point defenses. I wouldn't reccomend copying the base quite yet, it has only had on attack on it so far so I don't have a good idea if it is good or bad.

Just broke 2500 cups.

Current resource status is 6,270,214 Gold...4,745,342 Elixir, and 45,952 Dark Elixir.

The attacking is still relatively easy, I can still two star bases with the GoWiPe strategy, but it is burning elixir pretty fast. 3 of my elix pumps just finished upgrading to lvl11 and the other 3 are upgrading so that should help me out.

Defense wise, I'm not getting attacked when I log off yet, it takes a few hours of being offline for someone to attack, but no one has 2 starred me yet, and my current base has 7 wins and 2 losses. I'm expecting to be attacked a lot once I hit 2600, and these people may be able to get 2 stars on my base.

Congrats Dan! And Angrehbard seems doing ok too. Both are will's GC friends so it was easy to monitor their progress. Haven't seen how the others are doing, too lazy to check.

so will has started his descent after reaching his target of breaking his previous record in trophies and local rank, from 2024 to 2206 and from 185 to 182 in the local rankings in the Philippines. He did it on the last day of Phil Dream Team vs. Phil Elite Team's friendly match (both clans broke into top 200 global with PDT winning the match and peaked at 168).

will would have wanted to stay and climb up more, he still has 3million elixir to burn but his builders started sleeping and with only a couple of weeks till maxing th8 he had to step down and go back to farming gold (and DE on the way down).

And so he bows out of the competition with his final score of 2206.

Next week. It's flame's turn to participate in a trophy hunt for DTP's monthly 3-day push (he's a newbie th8 with level4 troops so forgive him if he can't reach as high as will did, but as a th7 last month, he did quite well at 1900).

Here is one of my Golem/Pekka/Wizard Raids. It is against a popular farming base that was converted for trophies. I actually used the base for a few weeks while my X-Bows were upgrading.

I attempted to trophy push but the farmer in me is just not liking it. ):

I reached 1800 then got tired of grinding for only 7-8 trophies at a time. My builder was freeing up and I was broke so I've dropped back down to farm.

Oh well, I guess that's my only trophy hunting for now!

7-8 trophies at a time? Matches around there are easy to find for 30+ cups just press next a couple of times. Were you only able to 1 star the bases?

Yeah I was broke so I didn't spend too much gold looking for targets. It would usually result in 1-2 stars.

DTP is starting a trophy push this weekend so I'll see how that goes. xD

Just broke 2700 cups (2704 to be exact).

I started two archer tower upgrades, and a Minion lvl3 upgrade in the Lab and currently have 2,500,00 Gold 1,325,094 Elixir and 28,947 Dark Elixir. I'm thinking I will ride out my shields tomorrow, and just do one attack when my shield expires. Save up the elix my pumps generate and then go all out on friday as my last day. Then I'll farm my way down collecting the awesome DE loots that are easily found in excess of 2500 DE.
