I know this has been stated previously... But im not sure i will ever upgrade my Town Hall to 9..
I have too many people in my clan and here that says it Kills the game...
I Hope Supercell are fully aware of this and have some plan to Counteract it..
My Question is: Would you downgrade back to LVL8 if you could?

Concern your thread: Upgrading your Town Hall level 8 to level 9 is YOUR choice. A beginner and especially a experienced player knows that if you're upgrading buildings YOU CAN'T TURN IT BACK! So your thread and poll : -1
If a player is in doubt, they can ask others (on the CoC forum, Global chat or clan members) what the exact benefits are having a Town Hall lvl 9.
Its going to take at least another two months to do that from where i am right now...I seriously hope that TH9 fortunes turn around in that time... so maybe... But right here right now... I dont think i will...Quote:

First of all.. I understand your thread and the whole situation behind your thread and I want to thank you for sharing your oppinion on the Clash of Clans forum. The poll is good to use but writing those words behind the option NO is pretty confusion. It's like the option NO is only for noobs who don't give a **** about Clash of Clans. It's a game who gives players a hard chance to prove themself and basically survive this hardcore raids. In the beginning when TH lvl 8 was announced, many people were arguing about upgrading to TH lvl 8. I know for sure that after 1-2 or 3 months, alot more players have got TH lvl 9 so it isn't that hard anymore. You know TH lvl 9 is the highest Town Hall at this moment, so when you're about to upgrade a Town Hall lvl 8 to 9 you know you're going to get alot attacks and difficult opponents.

Anyway ... My defense was maxed for th8 when i upgraded ... needed some more walls, some work on barracks and on 3 of my elixir pump.
I don't enjoy sitting back doing nothing ... but it was time for me to move up anyway
I'm afraid I'd have to agree TH9 is a waiting game it's fun for maxed base but NOT if you have to upgrade something. Th9 mostly relies on pumps. I made a new account out of pure boredom. And this time, prolly not gonna TH9.
Fun begins after everything is maxed. TH9 is still the best but not resource wise.
♥♥♥♥ poll, BTW, I think once there were so many players at LVL 8, it's anatural progression to create a new level. I wouldn't be surprised if a LVL 10 is on the cards in a few months time. I would imagine (have to, I'm LVL 7 still :p) that until many people move up, it will be a struggle at LVL 9, but I still can't wait to get my mits on the X-bow.

I'd vote if there was a legitimate option to vote for. I also see a Level 10 in the future. It's the natural progression to keep the income flowing for SuperCell. Bring on Level 13 Collectors!

Th9 is the way to go, still getting max loots 180/180 builders are busy. Soon as it was released I saved up & waited the full 10 days then the 7 for x-bow. TH9 rules all, extra traps help lots plus the extra air defence. My village is no where nr maxed.
I would vote straight no but since thats not an option I haven't voted.

When I first upgraded my TH I was high in cups max being over 2000. The bases are really strong in that range so gradually depleted to where I am now 1440.
I haven't used any gems to speed up troops. My builders are busy right now as still have low level weapons to upgrade, (under 1 million,) then I have my collectors aswell so they will be busy for a good few weeks yet.
If I were in a rush to complete my village then I would be using gems but I'm happy with my progress. Play usually 3-4 hrs a day so 400k an hr is great for me, 1.6 mil in 4hrs...thats all my mortars/cannons/wiz towers still to go before I need to really save any gold. Would take me a while.
To keep 5 builders busy at lvl 45-55, all u need is around 500-700k profit a day. (lvl 5 mortar cost 800k but takes 5 days = 160k a day, lvl 8 cannons are 400k and take 2 days = 200k a day, lvl 6 towers are 360k ea and take 3 days = 120k ea day. trebuchets lvl 4 costs 540k but take 5 days = 108k a day. etc etc etc. Playing around 1-2 hours a day will be plenty to keep builders busy.Quote:

As your lvl goes up, upgrades get more expensive. But also your defence is stronger (so they probably cant get all your rescourses).

There is enough loot available for TH9's. In the highest ranges of trophys (+2200) defences get so strong though, that it requires also a verry expensive army to get all those rescourses (so you yield less profits). So if you choose to climb up till here, be sure that your defence is also strng enough to stand a chance here (so ppl cant steal much from u).
If you want to get most rescourses with a not too expensive army (60-80k), its beter to stay around the 1800 trophys. you still find the good loots (th is 8-9), but require a less expensive army = more netto profits.
Not sure if anyone here plays WoW, but I would imagine at least some do. This game uses a simplistic version of Blizzard's software model in many ways. The most important aspect is to maintain incentives for new, middle of the pack, and high end players. Incentivizing high end players means continually raising the bar (WoW is on expansion 4!), while incentivizing the rest means gradually making the early stages easier and faster so that we feel like it is possible to catch up to the leaders.
TH10 is inevitable unless the game gets discontinued, but they would be absolute fools to do so at this point. I suspect cheaper low level upgrades may also slide up the pipe around the same time.

Honestly I'm a little ♥♥♥♥♥♥. I had know idea that when I upgraded to level 9 town hall that I would be effectively killing the the multiplier part of the game. Most of my defenses are at a level 1-3 because I spent all my time upgrading my town hall. I thought more level 1 defenses were better then few high level defenses. Anyways... So I'm like a level 30 town, with a level 9 town hall, and if I want to battle anyone then it is 750 gold per battle and the most I can win is like 10 gold and 10 elixar. It cost me more gold and elixer to do the battle then what I can get back. And I thought maybe I just am getting unlucky... So I blew 100 grand trying to find any decent opponent and the best I could find was a 8,000 gold opponent. It's complete ♥♥.
I made my account today to let the company know their multiplayer is broken.... Didn't realize it was broken on purpose. Im ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Guess im done playing. Off to itunes to rank 1 star and tell people to stay away.

heres how you get out of this situation..

Giving this game a 1 star rating coz of your experience is a real disservice. It is common sense in a strategy game to upgrade most things to the highest possible level before upgrading your main center (TH). Heck, it is common sense in real life too...would you guard your nuclear reactors with stone towers and an army of stone throwers??Quote:

TH9 killed the game for those who refuse to buy gems. For those who are willing and can afford to buy a ♥♥♥♥ load more gems, TH9 is the best thing since slice bread, well for supercell that is.

You are a very lucky guy. I play a second account that's currently at TH8 and there are good and bad days for looting. Sometimes I get some decent opponents with minimal searching, others I spend 30k+ just ignoring those 1k- loots. But on average, one TH level difference makes a huge difference in looting.Quote:

Here is my opinion a week later...
I have just Pekka, Dragons and healer upgrades left on Troops (to lvl3)... In terms of Attacking i can only see that the TH9 would give me:
Extra 20 Troops (army Camp Upgrades)
Extra Spell to take into battle...
In Terms of Defence - Xbow, Cannon Tesla and Air Def...
This week i rose from 1100 to 2100 (just to see what the battles are like)... And there are more TH9 bases than 8...
As im not going to spend significantly on gems and because i enjoy attacking i see no incentive in staying as high in trophies as i am now....
Waiting 4 hours for an army capable of getting a garunteed 50% against someone with Xbow and high level defences is not my idea of fun... Therefore i will be heading back down to around 1500-1800.....
So Yes i truly believe that TH9 (due to the defensive capabilities is killing the game....that coupled with the high spending gemmers... and the farmers....)
STILL LOVE THE GAME AND WILL CONTINUE TO PLAY.. But will not go for Trophies as it is pointless.

TH9 is worth it, but you really need to max TH8 first so you are capable of defending yourself against the better players in the 1400-1700 range.
I'm almost maxed at TH9, with three archer L11 towers en air defence lvl7 left, and don't have any problems finding enough loot.
It is alot better on TH8 for sure, and on TH8 I could do twice a raid with a full set of army camps as opposed to one raid for TH9 but that's logical since we attack more difficult bases now.
p.s. I only bought builders huts, the rest is gathered by stealing the gold and elix.

If you are maxed out, you will upgrade. Don't forget that its also End Game, it should be hard.
Maybe everyone at the last townhall can loose and take alot more on eachother? This would also make them get higher trohpies and not stay killing lowbies.

Kills the game? Couldn't disagree more, I assume you are talking about loot.
Is unfortunate not being able to raid town hall 7s anymore and the increased cost of searching adds up. But the positives of th9 outweigh those two negatives, the extra walls, extra storage space, defensive buildings and troop levels etc.
I have no problem saving loot for upgrades and I'm at a point where I'm lucky to upgrade something for less than 2-3m, right now I'm saving for level 3 xbows at 8m each. Which I consider quite impressive considering I don't buy any gems.
Obviously you are smart for maxing everything at th8, but once everything is maxed (bar level 8 walls and mines/collectors, which I don't value the reward compared to cost/time) you should be upgrading th.
I'd like to hear why it kills the game though, I can't see any other negatives other than the two I mentioned above.
No I wouldn't downgrade if I could and I'm glad that you cannot.
The reason - If you are dumb enough to gem without thinking or not read about and understand the game then you deserve to be stuck with a TH9.
I came to TH lvl 9 for the LVL 6 troops.....I can't wait to start donating them to the rest of my clan who are mostly at TH lvl 7.....
Looting is a little harder, but its no hill for a climber.
Can someone explain briefly why a level 9 TH ruins it?

Well i've been farming with TH9 for 3 and a half months now and i've only got 11 more defensive upgrades and i'm fully maxxed
is that success with TH9? I don't know but it is what it is.
