TH 9 and 10 Balance Please

A freeze spell and lvl 4 pekka would be nice as a th9 though i must admit

the reason it isn't is because there has to be incentive to move up to town hall 10 or people would just stop at 9...level 3 pekkas level 5 wizards maxed witches level 4 golems? we'll be ok

A penalty of 10% is quite a bit lower than a penalty of 50%. Enough where in fact at TH10 it's not really profitable to attack TH8s unless they have an extremely large amount of loot. Surely this doesn't require explanation right?

Before TH9 the penalty is a non issue. Sure you're affected by it, but it's not really noticeable. It's not like TH6s have that much loot compared to TH7s anyway. Your capacity to gather loot increases at each TH.

This changes at TH9, making TH9 the first TH that really forces you to choose between upgrading or not due to penalty considerations. It worsens even more at TH10. In addition your "nexting" costs go up substantially.

You can't have your cake and eat it too.

A loot penalty of 10% is lower than 50% but it is still a penalty. Again, my point is that until town hall 9 you have weapons for everything the town hall above you has. Maybe another example will help. When you get to town hall 8 the town hall 9's above you have xbows. The counter to this is obviously golems, which are available at town hall 8. But when you get to town hall 9 the town hall above you has inferno towers and the only counter to this is the freeze spell which you don't have.

I'm not saying it's impossible but I think we can all agree the freeze spell was designed to be used against the inferno towers and is the best way to attack against them. Unfortunately the only people who currently have access to them are other town hall 10's.

Then why argue penalty semantics? It's clear that there is a very real and tangible benefit to not immediately upgrading. This is also a benefit that only starts to be realized with TH9.

Again my point is that the loot penalty is scarcely a concern until TH9 so prior to that there is little reason to provide a large incentive and advantage for upgrading to a higher TH.

I disagree. The biggest incentive to go to town hall 10 would be the inferno towers. Not to mention all the new level 7 troops, the extra 10 levels on the heros, and the additional xbow.

I didn't say this was the only incentive it's just part of the deal...IMO town hall 9 is strong enough once you've upgraded it there is no need to buff it more

It's easier for a th9 to raid a th8 than it is for a th10 to raid a th9.

exactly a lot of town hall 9s have defended just fine against town hall 10s....if town hall 9s get a freeze they'll just be even more overpowered against town hall 8s..
