I presume so, but that could be done now with enough revenge button spamming. Personally, some random person I'll never meet knowing if I'm on clash of clans or not is the least of my worries.

I'd rather it be difficult for me to revenge if it makes it harder for others to revenge me..
Every revenge against me always takes maximum loot. They can scope out and plan an attack specific to my base. I'd rather not be able to revenge then to make revenges against me easier.
While they can only attack me once at a time, I'm always on that list. If its easier to revenge, they'll revenge more often.
Still a terrible idea.
Rather than have an indicator for players being online/offline (which would be a strain on the SC servers), how about we just have a countdown for each person on our list of when their shield runs out?
This mentions the real problem with being unable to scout a base your are able to do a normal attack on. You can't check defensive radii, can't check the clan castle, and thirty seconds is too short. They should fix this.
Apart from the first attack being handicapped, I think revenge is good.
This is similar to one part in a two part idea I posted before (Suggestion: Stalking for Revenge and Increased Chance for Revenge) It didn't go over well.
I checked your base out (I think.. Right village name, right clan name and shield), and no wonder you get wiped! Spread out your dang Air Defences! Hell, I have a good chance of raiding you with dragons, and I'm a TH7! One push towards the center and there goes your air cover! I don't attack bases with your level Air Defenses that are also buried and decentralised. I can't get a good angle of attack on those to take them all out without getting wiped. Sure I might take some loot, but I'm after that Dark Elixir that is almost dead center of your base. The Elixir loot is nice to pay for the army cost, and the Gold is a nice bonus, but I can raid other much easier basss for those resources.
Noticed I didn't really need any help with revenge attacks at all. Within a week's time, I was able to revenge attack about half the people on my list. Now, more than half of my list is usually used up, and have gathered quite the collection of Dark Elixir as a result, and practice dragon raiding TH8 people while just being TH7. Being a base that isn't easy looking tends to draw in people that feel like they know what they are doing, and so are active and has loot in thier base. And since my anti-barcher base unintentionally seems easy to people with barcher users (didn't plan that, but will not complain), I get those attacks often. So, my defence log is populated by mostly TH8s that tried, got an OK amount of loot, almost always no Dark Elixir, and lost trophies. Later, after having a dragon army prepped, I casually go down the list of available people, and attack the oldest, and best target for loot. There are times where I can attack back with dragons and rage spells in the spam of minutes, right after they log off, and sack them for much more than they got me for.
This isn't to say I'm immune to revenge attacks. I was rarely attacked back for the longest time, up until I thought it would be fun to troll for trolling farmer bases with trapped Town Halls. I was looking for a reason to DE zap people, and people that looked like it was easy, but weren't, were going to get zapped, and get no shield from me. Ran into several farm bases that had a good amount of Dark Elixir, was ready to zap, but never did, since they weren't trapped. So, several bases got what they wanted, a shield. Finally ran into a base to zap, and called the idea quits, since it took too long, and had my fun. After a few days, for a week, I got @#$%ing revenge attacked by some of those people I technically helped! So they returned the favor, and almost wiped my base to the ground, and took all the possible loot. What an honorable bunch. Next time I'm never giving shields to any farming base, if I can help it. When on a trophy dropping loot raid, I'm quoting before 40% hits!
Speaking of trophy dropping, I will TH snipe those guys that drop in with one unit and then quit, since after all, they don't want the trophies, and I get sick of seeing them on my list. I'm personally not going to loot someone that randomly gave me trophies with no damage done! The only revenge attack I feel bad about was a mistarget of a DE zap. They dropped in a queen and left, was on my log, did my casual check for the morning, saw they were a TH9 I had no hope of attacking, and DE, and *boom*! Later saw the log that they just dropped trophies, and felt bad :(. I passed them up several times before, but couldn't remove them from the list.
Just before finishing this post, I got attacked by some TH7. They got one full storage, but put thier King and Troops through one hell of a meat grinder to do it. They did 20% damage lol.
It is more of a strain to keep clicking the buttons, and then visit and revisit bases, than it is to have some indicator that uses some simple cached data on availability.
I like the idea but SC has said stuff about not wanting to say when people were last online and all that because of privacy.
Earlier you mentioned that "good" players will be on lots of lists, implying that they are more offensive rather than defensive. I'm pretty sure the "good" players would like to be able to take advantage of planned attacks, and would gain much more than they lose.
Woah, that was a long post, it makes me feel like this tiny comment is a bit inadequate lol. Thanks for showing me that thread, it seems like rather than getting negative feedback, it just didn't get much attention at all, so hopefully more people will see this thread and voice their opinion about the idea.
I tend to type a lot on my mobile device. Used to type a lot when I was on my computer, before getting a smartphone. Somehow I just have a lot to say. Not sure how I come up with it really.
I was thinking too that revenge attacks needed some feature to help make them more fun, but it never really panned out. I knew that any any attempt to improve notification alone would still result in a log jam of people trying to attack, putting things back at square one. That's why I had a two part idea on my thread.
Now, I got a different idea. Not sure how to go about it, but will make a thread soon. Pretty sure it is original :) ... But will check stuff anyway.
