Minions are probably the worst troop out there. Archers can do the job 100% more efficiently and are cheaper. Some people might say well upgrade them to level 5 and see. No, I already have level 6 archers which is better than level 5 minion so why waste all that dark elixer? Minions should be removed from the game.

im not going into detail but consider this:
Mortars=death to archers
Mortars@minions=nothing..
Once all air defence is down = minions run around and take EVERYTHING out
One all OTHER DEFENCES ARE DOWN, Cannons Mortars Wizard Towers Archer Towers, Archers take the rest.. which is a wooping.. Air defence.
Take your pick.
The way I see it, minions are only good for a few things. They are made in two separate barracks so they fill armies quicker and they're flying so they can take out mortars and other stuff if the air defences are upgrading or already destroyed. The main problem I find with them though is they take up 2 housing space. This is a pretty hardcore negative. 20 minions take up 40 spaces, pretty sizable amount of army space when you consider how easily destroyed they are by air bombs and other air defences. I carry 10-20 on raids when I want to save time making a farming army. They are good for farming, the air attacks help more than you would think. But they're not a game changer by any means...

Anyway, on topic: I think Minions are great. I always have a few (5-15) in my army as a backup force. I definitely don't use them in every attack, but they give me a lot of versatility to deal with various situations. It's not like they're intended to replace Archers or any other troop for that matter.
