I have seen it before, first hand.
Had a new guy in the clan bout 2 years ago, and he started donating lv5 barbs, to which some were moaning as arch were default/more useful.
After some checking, we realised bless him, he was offering his best.
He had lv3 troops as a new th7, had started barbs first, and on completion they had jumped to lv5.
