Better to dedicate DE to heroes or DE troop upgrades?

I'm a relatively new TH9 and have been plowing everything into my heros. When the hero upgrade times start to get into 4-5 days you can easily save enough DE to do a troop and then hero upgrade.

I think if you use a troop somewhat regularly you should max it ASAP. Big difference between gowiwi with lv5 golem and lv3 golem. Also if you loonion lv6 minions are key. Heroes are important but I say troops even more so. Think about how much more damage per second it is for a 70 minions to get 4 more attack for 100de vs sending queen 1 lv from 19-20 which gives you much less of an increase. The minions are doing 280 more dps and the queen get 3.

You fail to account for the increased royal cloak ability, as well as spawned archers.

You grt 1 additional archer which is 25dps and the cloak is 70 more for 4 seconds which is 280 damage more. The cloak ability increase is basically made up for by 1 second of all your minions attacking, 2 Seconds if you want to be generous

I prioritized troop upgrades first, and when enough time was left in lab, I would start a hero upgrade.

Now that all troops are maxed, all DE goes toward hero upgrades.

Ok, different debate. Can assume you really really like balloonion. Ok, thats fine, by all means do them first if they are your go-to troop for farm or push.

You're still going to use heroes though.

What if youre in a war where none of the bases look nice for air?
If there was a sudden nerf to flying troops?

You might have to change troop comps, but the heroes are always used.

I agree that having a lv 30 hero is a huge advantage over lv10, the problem is that those 20 levels are gonna cost you a TON of DE. The most any de troop upgrade costs is about 1 level of a hero upgrade, I think that's much more bang for your buck.
